Zone1 How do we know if the Bible is true?

God has two witnesses, two olive trees, two lamp stands that attend the Lord of all the earth - two staves with which to lead the flock, two trees of life, two "others" on each bank, calling to each other across the river of time. If what Jesus said is true he is both the first and the last.

The first witness and the last. The alpha and the omega. The beginning and the end.(of christianity)

"and those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and exchange gifts, to each other because these two prophets had been a torment to those who dwell on the earth"

Remember that next time you say "Merry Christmas", exchange gifts, and 'celebrate' the death of Jesus during midnight mass, by eating his flesh and drinking his blood, you cursed lost soul.

When Jesus submitted to the baptism of John, as a token of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, heaven opened up to him, and he began ascending into the Kingdom day by day in full view of everyone there, which terrified and confounded both his friends and his enemies alike.

Live and in living color, far more impactful, far more funny, graphic, and sad, than any T.V. show.
You are nuts.

You are an even bigger nut than him.

no, simply the truth concerning the true events of the 1st century.

the repudiation of judaism, (the desert religions) is the intent set by the heavens by their chosen exemplars of the 1st century whether a single word they may have utter was ever recorded or not - by their actions when deciphered correctly than erroneously portrayed by their crucifiers.

Says who? You never say who says.

simply provide the etched tablets claimed by the liar moses for their false commandments, heavenly personifications and your discretion will be vindicated ... otherwise die a sinner.

- jesus is the heavenly response for the crimes of judaism that are perpetuated by the crucifiers by their intervention since that time to the present day.

certainly their story book is the liest it could be, dwelling on servitude and denial ...

than anything taught and died for in the 1st century - liberation theology, self determination.

It’s a storybook and as true and factual as the reading wants it to be.
It's certainly a collection of stories. It employs several different literary types. If the person reading them doesn't understand my last sentence, they will be hard pressed to understand the intent of each writer.

What rings false to you? Why?

Long ago I was told that not everything in the Bible is about me or even pertains to me. The parts that do I've done my best to put into practice and have then made assessments.
What isn't about me directly gives me insights about the rest of God's plan.

I have determined to be a servant. Works out great so far. :)

Well said. If we read through the Bible trying to find us, the individual(s), we miss a lot. It is vital that we read through the Bible remembering it is about God.

How do we know if the Bible is true?

We don't. We can believe it based on our faith and that is fine. But true knowledge is based on facts and evidence, which I think is insufficient to be proven true.

The creation is evidence enough for me.

Creation = Creator

I'm just going to copy/paste some things I said on another thread, on this question....

Nearly 2000 fulfilled prophecies, and there will be more to come as we get closer to the end of this age. No other religion comes anywhere close to that. The odds of even a fraction of those prophecies being the result of chance is statistically impossible.

And the unity of the Bible is actually amazing when you consider that it's a collection of 66 books penned by 40 different people from all different walks of life, over a period of 1500 years.... yet from beginning to end, all of it tells the same unfolding story.

Also, many claims in the Bible that people at one point thought were false later were vindicated through archeology.

It has also stood the test of time. The Bible is the most loved and hated book of all time, and for thousands of years the haters have tried to destroy it, discredit it, ban it, etc. But to this day, the Bible is STILL the most read, studied, quoted, and top selling book of all time.

Then you have millions (or more likely, billions) of radically changed lives. I'm talking about people who come to Jesus and get born again. As someone who has been around a lot of Christians, and at one point I had a website devoted to Christian testimonies, I have heard tons of absolutely amazing testimonies. I've encountered people who came from the worst possible past, and whose lives were completely turned around by Jesus. Why? Because Jesus IS God. That's why so many lives all around the world have been completely changed when a person comes to Christ.

Those are just a few reasons. I could go on, but I wasn't planning to write an essay here. :)

your own resolution or what you believe is found in a book or is heavenly as the goal set by a&e to accomplish their own self determination.
God's Holy Spirit leads you into a life of service (not servitude). Self-determination is usually quite destructive of the person and of others.

they are one in the same your individual choice and not what is the issue and certainly not the solution during the 1st century - false commandments, heredity idolatry et all of judaism.

including in this case the misinterpretation and aftermath pertaining to a&e - from the beginning their heavenly quest for self determination and admission as equals to the everlasting, the triumph of good vs evil.
