Yeah, we should just bow down to the neo-Marxist assholes like you that want to worship the Swamp. This is just an extension of the 2016 elections. This is another demonstration of who we are.
This is not about politics. This is not about Trump. This is sociological. This is about US.
We didn't know. We had no idea that this many Americans had been so manipulated by talk radio and the internet and mal-information.
Now we know.
That begins with becoming more informed by not relying on sources of info from only one political perspective. Try to fact check everything you hear.Seeing what has passed for Presidential candidates in the last decades, it is hardly surprising that mere House Speakers be of higher quality.
Americans need to revisit their concepts of and participation in their republic.
Gotta keep that kickback trough full in Ukraine for the War Pigs to feast upon. After the vote, Buck said there were a few reasons he did not back Jordan, including the future of military funding for Ukraine. Jordan was one of 117 Republicans who didn’t vote for additional Ukraine funding at the end of September. And Buck said “I haven’t gotten a commitment that it will come to the floor” if Jordan becomes Speaker.
Buck also reiterated his concern about Jordan’s views on the 2020 election and his involvement in the Trump campaign’s effort to hold onto the presidency.
"I’m concerned about the inability to acknowledge that Joe Biden won the election and the activities surrounding January 6th," Buck continued.
Colorado Rep. Ken Buck joins opposition as Jim Jordan falls short on first Speaker vote
Some of you out there no doubt side with Gym in having not yet accepted the 2020 election result. A belief that remains a festering wound on the body politic in America. But most of us have moved on and for us, Jordan's denial of reality is seen as disqualifying. In a nutshell, here's why.
If I've learned anything while engaging in debates on this board it's how many discussions are stymied by a lack of ability to agree on basic facts. Examples include the Big Lie, voter fraud more generally, climate change, the findings of Mueller and the Senate Intel Committee regarding the 2016 campaign, the fictitious deep state, etc. Just as debates often break down because we can't agree 1+1= 2, so too it would be impossible for Dems to deal with someone for whom the acceptance of reality is not a baseline.
Whether Gym still clings to the Big Lie because he fears backlash from his constituents, or backlash from Don, or actually believes it, is immaterial. Neither delusion or a lack of willingness to acknowledge the demonstrable truth are qualities that make someone suited to be Speaker.
Civil, your president Biden congrats.Serious question: Are we not a civilized nation? There surely must be some honorable Republicans in the House, so why don't they stand up? Is is fear or cowardice of being primaried? Regardless, there is no excuse for allowing someone like Jim Jordan to even be considered for Speaker of the House! I know that Jordan was duly elected by his extremely gerrymandered state, but that's no excuse for giving him even more power. What do you think?

How about his refusal to comply with a congressional subpoena from the body he proposes to lead? Or his vote in support of the coup immediately after the Capital riot? What about the House members who simply think that he is a good choice?
You may even think that he is a good choice, you have not listed a single criticism of him.
A more serious question. How could a civilize nation allow a piece of dumb ass shit like this Potatohead clown to ever get away with stealing an election and become President?Serious question: Are we not a civilized nation?
