Maybe you can enlighten me on how to reduce corruption. You mean by Americans voting in the primaries to unseat a Democrat or Republican and replacing them with a different Democrat or Republican? Do you mean by voting one corrupt party out of power and replacing them with the other corrupt party? Are you trying to say that only Democrats and Republicans are corrupt and no other party is?So??????? So the US can reduce corruption. We know how, because we have EVIDENCE out there.
Do you want to reduce corruption in the US? Or are you perfectly happy to moan about it when it's the other party, but you still don't want to get rid of it?
Thanks for finally agreeing with me.Never said they weren't.

Getting rid of the current corruption in the Swamp will be very difficult if not impossible. It is unlikely that corrupt elected officials will pass strong laws to derail their gravy train. It is also unlikely that the voters will unite to throw out enough of the current corrupt elected politicians in Congress to make a significant difference. What on earth?
The other parties don't have power. So how are they corrupt?
What I'm saying is that if people have choice, then politicians will have to listen to people. They'll have to avoid being corrupt. Also with more political parties there'd be more oversight, making it harder to be corrupt.
The separation of powers was designed to reduce corruption away from the corruption of England. It worked, but since then people have found better ways of reducing corruption further. The current system is so outdated.

I remember being taught in school that we live in a democracy. That was back in the 1950s and 1960s. Even back then my teachers were college grads. They should have realized that the founders wanted no part of a democracy as democracies don’t work.Sure. The best way, the easiest way, is to get people supporting the idea of democracy, of proportional representation.
People already believe they have democracy. Showing them they don't, might change their mind.
The fact that it's happened in other countries, and that it works, is a big thing.
The biggest problem is that people are so brainwashed it'd be difficult to get them away from their entertainment of slamming the other side.

Some wise individual said, “A democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner.” (Note: the quote is often attributed to Ben Franklin but the evidence is lacking.)

When I took history and government in school, many critical issues were misrepresented, given short shrift, or even ignored entirely. And those lacunae undermined my ability to adequately understand many things. Randall Holcombe’s new book, Liberty in Peril: Democracy and Power in American...visionlaunch.com
Recently many schools stopped teaching civics. Today many young people are convinced Marist socialism is a great idea. It reminds me of the story ot the Pied Piper leading the children out of the village by playing a tune.
