Passing an entrance exam doesn’t equate to merit. It’s the minimum standard.Athletes can't get into schools without passing entrance exams. They can't stay on scholarship without completing at least 24 hours of study each year. Athletic scholarships have given poor kids of all races the chance to get an education they would never have received and allowed them better upward mobility they would never have had. You wouldn't be against athletic scholarships if only whites were getting them.
I’m very in favor of giving scholarships to poor kids. Give them to the poor kids who have academic achievement. They deserve it more than the kid who runs fast.
