Pretty sure the american people, those who vote control the government. Last I checked, these "big banks" can't vote.
Nominated for the Head in the Sand award of the day.
Problem isnt who is in power. The problem is we are letting them excersize progressively MORE power. If we ALL complained when they do selective bailouts of their FAVORITE bankers, and told them not to do that -- wouldnt matter if Goldman or Lehman guys run the treasury or the Fed.
I see that you're one of the few people in this thread that actually watched the interview in the OP.![]()
Indeed...I am to the point where I would support a Constitutional Amendment banning all political parties. If you want to run for office, then you better convince people of your character, your intent, and your vision and do it separate from any national party or organization.Amazing that were so close to agreement. Diff is -- there are MORE powers that are bribable, then there used to be. Allowing the Feds to micromanage the marketplace and pick winners and losers just screams corruption. That and the fact that there is no place to hide from your party leadership for politicians with principles. Congress is literally run by 4 people. The 2 parties ekther cut corrupt deals or block all progress. We need to de-emphasize party and elect more independents, or start relying on 3rd parties to give shelter to pols with some morals and convictions.
that might help some. Washington was against political parties and their malevolent influence. It would help to ban dark $$$ and future employment at wall st firms, defense contractors, think tanks, etc...

The thing is, you are the third person to say that. But, also, provide no substantive arguments as to why the people who elect the representatives aren't the one's who are responsible for those they elect. In a constitutional republic, the responsibility is on the citizen voter to chose his representatives.
I have heard this talk from supposed "anti-establishment" types, like Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan, Ross Perot, Dennis Kucinich, Ralph Nader etc. They all ran, and they all lost. If people didn't support the two party system, they wouldn't vote for it.
The fact is, you guys simply are out of touch with the american electorate.

the current leadership positions for both parties are currently, for the most part, bought-and-paid-for water-carriers for their largest campaign donors as opposed to the people who voted for them.

Don't think so man. Nothing special about campaign donations. Even with public financing, politicians could be influenced. Favors would have a price. These 4 leaders get re-elected because of their POWER to deliver big ticket items to their districts. You gotta be REALLY principled to vote for the newbie when that kind of influence keeps your district humming..
Essentially, Harry Reid has enough influence to BUY his constituents.. Ponder that a moment.
I'll bet you voted for Bush, so it's your fault.
I couldn't have voted for Bush, I wasn't of voting age when he was president. I am not even a big fan of him, but seriously, find a new scapegoat, it's been over 5 years. I've heard it said it is everyone's fault(Bankers, Zionists(code for Jews), Bush etc etc). It is everyone's fault except for the president and the congress.
Give me a break.
The fault lies with BushCo, Republicans, and wall street.

My chickens can vote too:Pretty sure the american people, those who vote control the government. Last I checked, these "big banks" can't vote.
Let me tell you briefly how I became the leader of the New World Government. I saw how American elections work - there are a few buttons that you can push for candidate this or candidate that, and I did not like it. Then I moved out to live in the national forest, where I keep chickens for entertainment. And I created a button with my name on it, and placed it near the chicken house. And every time the chickens stepped on the button, they voted for me.... Now I realize, that 30 or 40 million Americans who press the button for one of the establishment's predicted winners, are slightly more intelligent than my chickens who can only step on it, but nonetheless, I am the leader of the New World Government . net, and as an undisputed leader of the new world government, I will see to it that the people around the world, starting with America, have fair elections where they have to actually type in a candidates name that they want to vote for, and if they are incapable to type it in, they have absolutely no business voting, it is not a popularity contest. and because it is not a popularity contest, as in a referendum, they will each have one for as well as one against vote so that they can also vote against a candidate that the establishment media tells them in advance is one of the predicted winners. New World Government - an Alternative to the New World Order

You gotta love bullshit like yours. Obama and his administration come into power touting their desire to promote alternative energy. At which time a few alternative energy companies ask for loans to build or expand their alt energy business. At a time when the Obama administration was trying to get jobs going in the USA.
Unfortunately these business's failed. And money was lost.
So what is your point? That there is risk in the business world? No shit.
You like it better we pissed away a couple trillion dollars in Iraq? Was that money well spent?
I heard Obama put all that Solyndra money in his pocket. Yep, that's what I heard.
Every administration has private business's they want to fund and see succeed. That's what creates jobs. Private business.
Of course, what would a republican know about creating jobs. Right? How many jobs was Bush losing when he left office?

However, do continue (if you must) with your propaganda lies how it's all just Bushco. Republicans, and Wall Street. Quite frankly, I find your short-sighted delusions rather humorous.
It couldn't be that the people who bother to vote are completely duped by the two party's BILLION $$$ spin-machines![]()

Nominated for the Head in the Sand award of the day.

The fault lies with BushCo, Republicans, and wall street.
Are you really that naive as to think the Obama Administration and liberal Democrats have contributed no part to this current stagnant economy? As the policies they have implemented have created anything BUT a robust booming job market for this country, beyond the usual need for federal unemployment extensions. Perhaps you need to remove your blinders to the big financial donors involved below.
