My first tour of duty was over to Hahn AB Germany, where we had F-4s. In the morning they would scream down the runway and if you were shift work, you knew it was time to wake up. In the evening you knew it was getting dark, because you could see the after burners in full throttle getting those bricks up into the air. Two years later they brought in the new F-16s, we were so excited to get something new, and the first jet that approached, had to have an emergency landing due to a flight control malfunction. police reform:

I believe that MOST police are NOT "bad apples"

I believe SOME police ARE "bad apples"

the only "reform" we really need is;

eliminate the "bad apples".
hire more "GOOD apples".
hold cops to a high standard by actually punishing them when required.
make then continue to take their oath (to serve and protect)
and then make them UNDERSTAND that serving and protecting includes EVERYONE regardless of politics, race, color or religion.

Looking at that...why not make the mine detector head wider and handle longer and put the head on wheels?
They could use radar like a fish finder.

I was one of the highest to score in my aptitude test for the military entrance exam, they said i could go into any field in any branch. The only thing i didnt have was 20/20 eyesight but wasnt colorblind. So i got into avionics. Maybe the reason why the mine detector wasnt better equipped because all the great minds went into other branches...

I scored in the top 5% of the ASVAB exam. I also worked in Avionics.
Sometimes we would have people from other branches use our Chow Halls.
The Navy guys couldn't believe that we had menus.
The Army guys couldn't believe that we got to eat indoors.
The Marines could believe that we got to eat cooked food.

I was an avionics tech F-4, F-15, F-16, Vietnam combat vet.

Oh I'm well acquainted with liberal mud slinging. I can and do give as good as I get.

I am a avionics flight control specialist until Bill Clinton decided to down size the military so we had to become fully qualified on all avionics for the jet. Learned radar and weapons control, navigation and communications, but i always asked a question about the downsizing. If 1 jet came back broken, then there was 1 tech to handle the job, but if 4 jets came back, you then had to shut down 3 jets and fix them in order of priority. It has always been the will of the left to cripple our military so countries like China can rule supreme..

You are referring to Rivet Work Force. I was a SME during it's planning. We argued that that was too much equipment for one person to be proficient on. The reply was thankyou for your input now shut up and sit down. Believe me we tried to mitigate it as much as possible only to be rebuffed at every turn.

LOL I was in ground radio. We got all the screwball electronics gear that fit into no other AFSC. I spent my last three years loaned out to the then brand new Defence Mapping Agency as a geodetic survey team chief because of a screwball piece of gear called the AN-PRR14 Geoceiver. I think there may have been a dozen or two of them ever made. How's that for diverse?
I spent many many hours standing behind thedolites, levels and other survey gear. I also sent that three years living out of a B4 bag.
It all eventually morphed into today's GPS while the DMA morphed into todays National Geospatial Intelligence Agency or NGA.
