We know why. They have done everything they can to bring down the president. Worked tirelessly to smear his mother, siblings, wife, children, grandparents and every one he has ever talked to.
They have tried again and again to tie him to old Republican scandals and failed policies.
They attack his religion, his education, his many accomplishments. Even things that are clearly good for the country like education and rebuilding infra-structure, they cry "socialism" and "brain washing" and "mind control".
The GOP's intense hatred of the poor. The fact they don't want millions to have health care. They refer to uneducated right wingers as "hard working" and "decent". As if those with an education are lazy and indecent.
I saw right winger Matt Lewis talking this morning, saying that the poor need to work hard and make something of themselves. Even though many have two or three jobs, apparently, for food stamp right wingers, that's not enough.
It's clear. Obama has been a good president. I suspect history will see him as a great president. Especially after the incredible number of disasters and failures handed to him by the GOP. Republicans realize this. They are freaking out that America's first black president has been so much better than the last five Republican Presidents. GOP presidents have been so awful, they even had to start a project to try to turn one into something he wasn't.
About the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project
Five myths about Ronald Reagan s legacy
Obama's policies of helping Americans with their health care, education, job opportunities, rebuilding infrastructure, keeping us out of ridiculous wars Republicans started will be seen as a model of productive politics. Republicans can't name a single thing they are proud of in the last 40 years except to smear Obama and his family. And it's the GOP who refer to Obama as a "loser".
Peggy Noonan Loses It Blog Media Matters for America
This week she calls Obama a "loser." Last week he was a "boring" "walking headache" and Noonan suggested he just "shut up."
The next year, he won his second term with a decisive victory.
If Republicans don't come up with a scandal quick and try to make it stick, all their smear tactics will be in vain. They will look like, er, "losers".
