I’ve seen two Kafka movies in my Lifetime ( and 3 others where he was involved or made a Cameo ) does that count ?

When I was in school, "The Trial" was one of the books on the syllabus.

Kafkaesque Quotes from Franz Kafka

“The meaning of life is that it stops.”

“Art like prayer is a hand outstretched in the darkness, seeking for some touch of grace which will transform it into a hand that bestows gifts. Prayer means casting oneself into the miraculous rainbow that stretches between becoming and dying, to be utterly consumed in it, in order to bring its infinite radiance to bed in the frail little cradle of one’s own existence.”

Anything that has real and lasting value is always a gift from within.
A first sign of the beginning of understanding is the wish to die.
Theoretically there is a perfect possibility of happiness: believing in the indestructible element in oneself and not striving towards it.
You can hold yourself back from the sufferings of the world, that is something you are free to do and it accords with your nature, but perhaps this very holding back is the one suffering you could avoid.
A belief is like a guillotine, just as heavy, just as light.
What do I have in common with the Jews? I don't even have anything in common with myself.
Youth is happy because it has the ability to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.
A book should be an ice-axe to break the frozen sea within us.
Don't despair, not even over the fact that you don't despair.
It's often safer to be in chains than to be free.
You are free and that is why you are lost.
I do not read advertisements. I would spend all of my time wanting things.
Idleness is the beginning of all vice, the crown of all virtues.
Religions get lost as people do.

If Kafka didn’t say all these things, he said some of them and should have said the rest
Thanks for his words. Now I won't buy his book at Amazon for $5.00

I remember reading Metamorphosis in high school.

I thought it was kinda cool. Being turned into a giant bug and shunned by his family. The kind of stuff angsty teens would like
God.

What kind of school forces their students to read a story about turning into a bug.

Most fictions are garbage with the rare exceptions for the ones with a moral or a message such as 1984 or Lord of the Flies. I haven't read this story but judging by this thread I don't want to.

It would scare you, sock.
