Zone1 Has the movie "Sling Blade" been banned on WOKE PLATFORMS ???

I've always said that man best not get too dependent on Technology, and therefore he should leave the manual override in just about everything that moves or fights.
People who were alive in the 50's 60's and even the 70's know... we haven't made life better.... we made it more efficient... and time will tell if that is a good thing...

I've known someone who has been locked out of their home in -20° temps, at 5:00 AM, in light clothing, slippers and no coat. No, not a great place to be. The reason I keep at least one analogue locked door to my home.

I was in high school in the 70s...........and even then, one of my teachers stated something to the effect of.......
"When technology surpasses man in intellect, thats when our downfall begins".

Look at society now.

It wasn't Y2K going to destroy this country...........it was technology surpassing human intellect and making people morons and shit4brains.

There was a book by Michael Crichton called "The Terminal Man", published in 1972 and consequently made into a film version, that was based on this event. The author used the term "watershed week" to refer to the point in time when computer capability was predicted to surpass the capability of the human brain. The book riveted me as a young adult, but I never saw the film.

I'd recommend it.

I've heard of the movie. I will have to watch.

But.....it's not so much that the computer surpassed the human brain as it is that people just fukking gave up their intellects and greed for knowledge and replaced it with greed for material things and money.

It's more that people let technology rule their lives and worship the computer chip, than continue to read, comprehend, and understand the sciences, maths, arts, and social skills that made us literally happy back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

This is one of the reasons people are so demented now......stupid, and have no understanding of what is happening.

You just said this so well!

I remember how happy it made me to learn medical lab science, back in the late 70's and early 80's. Microbiology and hematology were amazing and beautiful to me!

I truly knew something about how the universe operated when I looked in that microscope and it defined a part of me I'd never known about before then!

It's so evident now...

Especially in the food service industry. Wow.

I'm so tired of dealing with bad people that have no hygiene, and dealing with their (I don't give a chit altitudes), that it's just ridiculous. Everything has been made so easy through technology, that a complete moron figures that they can occupy a position in just about any level inside the food service industry now, but that's If you can convince them to come to work. Ok, but enough blaming the worker's right ?

The bosses are then put into a vice by their greed driven ownership, otherwise ownerships that want to see the technology pay off right, and this by them wanting the technology to allow total morons to now take positions in the once trusted food industry.

This is done for mere pennies on the dollar for their cost of labor now.

So now it all comes down to paying these desperate worker's way less than what the professional food preppers made and prided themselves in their job's back in the day....

If they didn't have the technology they have now, and it doing everything for them, then the industry would have to involve itself in training worker's to be more proffesional and better at what they do. This inturn causes better quality workforces that are worth the labor they are producing, and it generates more profits for the business in which makes it a better outcome for everybody.

Bottom line is technology has made people lazy, unproffesional, uneducated, and it has given this false idea to the business class that technology is a way to break the worker's pride and spirit so he or she could be exploited, and worse it then fools the customer's into paying big bucks to these owner's at everyone's expense.

The losers in it all are the customer's, otherwise who are now being served food from people with tats from head to toe, rings in every orifice on their face, corn rows that look like they haven't been washed in month's, curling finger nails if straightened out would be 14" long, baggy pants, no dress code, no hair nets, bad attitudes, bad food prep skills, bad money changers, and etc.
