Has Our Republic Died?

The OP makes a very compelling case not to vote for Trump. All he wrote applies to Trump and no one else. No modern President has ever done more to divide and bring our fair Republic to the brink of collapse than Trump himself.
We’ve had many divisive presidents. Trump is certainly one of the worst, but Ears was damn near as bad. You can bet Senile Joe will be just as bad.
Too much blame is being put on trump for the collapse of the economy this year.its the dem Leaders destroying America not trump.trump was against shut downs and lockdowns which have destroyed more lives than the fake virus has.He may be one of the worst ever but compared to the last five administrations starting with the Gipper in 1981,he is a refreshing change over thst corruption that happened all these decades under those warmongers.

We agree on most things, but I can’t agree with you about Trump. While he does deserve credit for not entangling us in new wars, he’s done little to lower tensions and has expanded the warfare state, while millions of Americans are struggling. He’s threatened several nations with extermination and has imposed draconian sanctions on the Empire’s made up enemies. Clearly an act of war.

I agree he doesn’t deserve the level of criticism he has received, regarding the virus. However his lack of empathy and absurd statements, makes him an easy target. He’s just not smart.

Regarding corruption, he’s done absolutely nothing to limit it. I would argue he’s expanded corruption by our political class.

We are at a point in our Republic that leads me to believe it is about to die if it has not already.

Joe Biden is accused of Committing Treason while he was a sitting Vice President and our media refuses to cover the story. Hard evidence of Joe committing Treason and giving up secrets to China thorough his son Hunter have come to light. The media that is charged with keeping the public informed has become the propaganda arm of the democrat party. Those given protections to keep us informed have gotten in bed with traitors..

The democrats have been chipping away at our republic for years and they almost have it destroyed. The placement of Justice Barrett on the court places one more obstacle in their way. They will try and sweep this obstacle away by packing the court.

Every part of our government is under attack. Biden misused the Office of the VP to enrich himself and his family while selling out the American public's jobs and security.

No one wants to discuss this... No one wants to report on this, And the main player wants to be our president and has deep financial ties to our enemies....

Our Republic is dead and the only thing standing between our country and us being sold out to our enemies is our VOTE.
Sore loserism. Get lost loser. America is for winners
Communists have no place in America... Get the fuck out!

Joe Biden is in bed with a Chinese spy chief... He took money from that spy chief.. What did china get in return? The only reason America was losing to china was JOE BIDEN and a few other RINO's who sold us out...
Fox News has reviewed emails from Bobulinski related to the venture — and they don't show that the elder Biden had business dealings with SinoHawk Holdings, or took any payments from them or the Chinese.

You elected a scumbag. And now, if the polls are true, the public is rejecting the scumbag.

Elect better candidates.
Joe is not better and very likely worse. Why vote for either of these two morons? Can’t you see it’s a rigged system? A criminal enterprise.
First you get rid of the cancer; then you worry about fixing the body.

Those who mourn the death of the Confederate Slave Holders Republic in 1865 and belittle the contributions of the USA‘s modernizing Republic based on free labor & capitalism — with all its industrial & technological advancement — are understandably too confused to be of any use resolving the problems of our country and the world in the 21st Century.
You misunderstand the heinous treasonous acts of Dishonest Abe, while condemning those who believe the War of Northern Aggression was the beginning of the end. You mistakenly think the war was about slavery. Your condemnation is misplaced, but typical of most brainwashed Americans.
Sorry, gipper, but I don’t agree. The destruction of the system of chattel slavery (replacing it with wage slavery capitalism, which for black freemen was almost equally grotesque after Reconstruction was defeated) was a crucial step forward for the United States.

In my opinion, given the Southern rebellion, the triumph of Republicanism in the Civil War was absolutely necessary. Without it, “democratic culture” would have died long ago and North America would have evolved into a totalitarian society, divided by race AND class, with Northern industrialists and Southern Dixiecrats emulating the worst European fascist and imperialist powers.
You think a war that killed 850,000 Americans and destroyed half the nation, leading to decades of continued mistreatment of blacks, was worth it. This is nonsensical. Removing slavery did little to improve conditions for blacks, and in many ways was worse. How is this absolutely necessary?

The entire western world eliminated slavery without bloodshed but for the US, thanks to dishonest Abe. Had Abe allowed the South to leave peacefully, slavery would have ultimately ended as it did everywhere else.

The most harmful consequence of Lincoln’s treasons actions, besides all the death and destruction, was the termination of the republic. We are a rapacious oligarchy today, in part thanks to Lincoln’s actions.
I think it was indeed tragic that Southerners allowed themselves to be led by ambitious politicians into a slaveholding-oligarch-led rebellion against a democratic Republic — the most democratic Republic in the world. That happened in no other modern society. That rebellion, which dared to openly associated “freedom” and “liberty” with defense of the institution of human slavery, was a grotesque danger to human rights everywhere.

Defeated in a bloody war, but then renewed by Jim Crow racism, “Lost Cause” revisionists for 150 years have been nurturing their sectional grievances, confabulating freedom & defense of “property and states rights” with opposing universal social and human rights for “the other.” That antique sectional opposition to Lincoln Republicanism has gradually mixed with separate national Cold War tropes. Now for many the enemy of “Americanism” is no longer “black abolitionists” and “Yankee imperialists” ( :dunno: ) but also “multiculturalists,” “globalists,” “socialists,” “communists,” or just Liberals, atheists, and of course now even Democrats. But as I said before, real existing capitalism is today essentially an international order.

Had the South seceded and maintained its independence for awhile, more wars would have inevitably broken out, including filibustering expeditions to colonize Mexico and Latin America and spread slavery there. “Free” African Americans would have quite likely ceased to exist, the Dred Scott decision re-affirmed. Blacks might well have ended up victims of genocide when their labor was no longer needed. The social and “democratic” development of the West and Northern states would have been fatally stunted. The end result would almost certainly have been the death knell to the U.S. Republic as a force for progress and a “beacon of liberty” for the world.

Neither Lincoln nor most Americans wanted that war. Nor did many imagine how bloody it would end up being. War has its own dynamic. The Second World War, in which Nazi fascism and racial totalitarianism threatened Europe, and bloody Japanese imperialism threatened China, cost over 73 million lives and destroyed much of the advanced world. Was it worth fighting fascism? For the U.S. and its allies — in my opinion yes, absolutely.

World War II, unlike WWI (but very much like the Civil War) was very much more than an ordinary capitalist or interimperialist conflict. The very fate of “the liberal capitalist order“ was at stake. In a similar way I believe the “Second American Revolution,” as terrible and bloody as it proved, was necessary. This was the long developing irrepressible conflict all feared but none could prevent.

Best to make peace with this old history and move on ...

Well just a few more days & both sides will stop throwing anything they can think of true or false( mostly unproven) not many still care about the truth. then the game will change, no matter who wins the election will be called rigged.

Yeah but the election is already rigged, since voters get to chose between just two very bad choices.

The only reason he hasn't gotten us into a war is because the original senior staff wouldn't let him. (Read Mattis's book) Now that he's rid the WH of ANYONE who disagrees with him, and has appointed a totally incompetent DNI, I wouldn't be so sure if he's re-elected that he won't get us in a war.

The only thing I see that can save us is ranked voting. This picking between the choice of two evils still results in evil.
Raise the standard for voting-----no more felons voting (they make bad life choices) and only those that pay federal taxes should be allowed to vote and only in the state precinct that they pay their taxes in. Fewer more productive more intelligent voters......are less easily emotionally manipulated and bought off.

No, the stock market down turn this week is all on Trump, his ignorant, evil approach to this plague was to simply lie his way through it and shrug his shoulders over all the death that he could care less about.

And herding his supporters together like that. He hates them.

Your avatar captures what Uncle Sam and the Confederacy together might have become had the South won the Civil War. Clearly you are not a libertarian anarchist, not a republican in any sense, just a disgruntled reactionary anarchist.

No “libertarian” could ever defend a war fought for the maintenance of slavery against Republican calls for “free labor, free soil, free men.

Voting does nothing. Why have you failed to pay attention for the last many decades?

Give an immigrant a free pass, healthcare and education for breaking the law and crossing the border.
Throw a dude slinging dope on the corner in jail.

The dude you threw in jail, ain't stupid.
He knows what you are doing.

There's still hope ... It won't be coming from the Establishment though.

My point exactly ... There's people in this country that want to be free from the BS.
They are getting wise to likes of nit-wits that keep looking somewhere else for blame or opportunity ...
