  A woman in a car with its windows down screamed "Allahu Akbar" as she ran up onto the sidewalk and ran-over upwards of 40 people in Las Vegas last night.
  
  According to one eye witness "As we were walking accross the street, this car comes flying through the red light. She ran up on the sidewalk and smashed into a group of people walking accross the street and into the group of people at the corner. She did not slow down and appeared to accelerate as she hit the sidewalk."
  
  According to that witness. there is a huge row of plants and bushes separating the sidewalk and the strip, but the woman driver ran through both, at a speed he guessed to be 40-45 miles per hour. "People were flying off the front of her car and people were smashing into other people as she plowed through the crowd."
  
  The witness went on to say "As this unfolded, the only thing I recall as this happened is the insane sound of her car accelerating and the voice from the car was screaming "Allah Akbar!" I've heard the sound enough times on the news that I was waiting for a bomb to blow up or guns to start firing. "
  
  According to Police, 37 people were hit and one person was killed. Six of the victims were listed in Critical Condition but they have since been upgraded to stable.
  
  The crash occurred about 6:40 PM local time in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino, and Planet Hollywood. Police are quite explicit in saying the crash was intentional.

Suspect in Vegas car-ramming to face murder charge
21 Dec.`15 - A 24-year-old woman who repeatedly rammed her car into pedestrians on the packed Las Vegas Strip, killing one person and injuring more than 30, will be charged with murder, officials said.

Clark County District Attorney Steven Wolfson told reporters that additional charges would also be filed against Lakeisha Holloway, who had her three-year-old daughter in the car at the time of the incident Sunday night. "Other charges we are considering are a multitude of counts of attempted murder," in addition to charges of child abuse and leaving the scene of an accident, Wolfson said.

Authorities said that as Holloway's car intentionally and repeatedly smashed into pedestrians at different spots on the busy Strip at about 6:30 pm, many witnesses tried to get her to stop, pounding on the windows and opening the doors of the vehicle.

After the rampage, she drove to a nearby hotel and asked a valet parking attendant to call the emergency services, Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo said. "She didn't appear to be distressed due to her actions," Lombardo said, adding that the child was unharmed.

She might have been on her way to Texas to meet with the father of her daughter after the pair had split up some time ago.

After her arrest, Holloway "described a stressful period today where she was trying to rest/sleep inside her vehicle with her daughter but kept getting run off by security of the properties she stopped at," a police report states. "She ended up on the Strip, 'a place she did not want to be,'" the report quoted her as saying. "She would not explain why she drove onto the sidewalk but remembered a body bouncing off her windshield, breaking it."
