DA Alvin Bragg Releases Migrant Taxi Driver Charged for Repeatedly Assaulting Female Passengers

Bragg let him off because he didn't feel confident he could win. (Or probably someone two or three steps below him didn't, the people who never change no matter who is DA. )

Is that the standard? "I dont think I can win, so, im not even going to prosecute the case"?

yeah, actually that IS the standard most prosecutors go by

They sit down, they look at the evidence, and they say, "Can we convince a jury of 12 people too dumb to get out of jury duty that this happened the way we said it did!"

Which is why 82% of jury trials end in convictions. They figure out which cases get dismissed, which ones get pleaded down, long before it ever gets to a jury.

WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!!

Lol, thats awesome, so...you can commit sexual assault on someone, and if the DA doesnt feel like he can make it stick or..just doesnt feel like messing with it, he can have them plead down.

I wonder how they thought they couldn't get an allegation on a woman claiming a cab driver sexually assaulted her to stick, but an alleged rape case from 30 years ago where there was no evidence and the woman patterned the allegation after her favorite tv show...yeah THAT they thought they could get to stick lol..

Yup, real world, that's what happens. Juries are unpredictable. That's why prosecutors like to have all their ducks in a row before putting a case in front of one.

Only about 5% of criminal cases go to juries. The rest are plea bargains, dismissals, or bench trials.

Odd, i guess the only ones they think they can get to stick are 30 year old allegations against republicans.....

Well, yeah, given the guy pretty much admitted that he engaged in that kind of behavior. Grab em by the 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 🐈‍⬛

No, locker room talk isnt an admission, and even if it was, its not an admission to having anything to do with her. SHE never proved anything

Well, much like the Cabbie case, it was "he said vs. she said". But Trump was in a civil court in this case, so unlike a criminal case (where the burden is on the state), the burden is on the defendant.

He could have offered numerous defenses, but he just made himself look dishonest. When he claimed he never met Carol and she wasn't his type, only to be shown a picture of her and identifying her as his Second Wife, Marla Maples. (Which proved that he knew her and she was his type.)

Even in civil court, the plaintiff has the burden of proof.

As usual, Joe is just using the part of the quote that fits his narrative. The quote starts out "... THEY LET YOU..." That clearly states intent on the part of the woman involved.

Considering he openly supports terrorism, show trials, and human trafficking, can you really expect anything honest from Joey?
