Speakers' fees are often a way to channel pay to the speaker and make it look legit. $100/plate, etc. should be the big clue.

Honest question is what other than campaigning propaganda would people like Obama, Biden, Clinton have to offer to be worth so much ???

Bottom line is both were/are channels to give 'payola' and dodge campaign funding rules, etc.
