Perhaps he means some men that committed treason to the United States of America.

Actually considering the fact that it was the Confederacy that held to the Constitution, and not the Federal Govt, there was no treason. NY, RI and VA would NOT ratify the Constitution unless they retained their right to secede from the Union being formed at their discretion. No objections where written in thus all three states ratified the document with that right in mind, and a right granted one state is automatically granted to all by that Constitution. Meaning the Confederate States had the legal right to secede. It was the Federal government that committed treason by it's immoral and un-Constitutional invasion of the Sovereign State of Virginia which started the War of Northern Aggression.

Anybody care to explain how what Lee and Jackson did wasn't treason? Or, explain why we should honor them?

They withdrew from the Union, much like the Soviet satellite countries did from the Soviet Union, did you call those people traitors also? Does you opinion only apply to the folks you disagree with? Do you really believe a free people don't have a right to govern themselves as they chose?

So the South was going to give freedom to all those 3/5's of persons? Is that what you are saying? A free people do not fight to the death to defend slavery.

Intelligent people know that the Confederate Soldiers were not fighting to the death to defend slavery, especially seeing that about 90% of them never owned a slave, but where fighting to the death to defend themselves, their states, their families, their homes and their nation from an illegal, un-Constitutional and immoral invasion by foreign troops. I know you find that a bit hard to swallow, but it's the truth. unfortunately the old adage, history is written by the victors. holds true here, so unless one is curious enough and intelligent enough to actually study the subject on thier own, all they can rely on is the drivel taught in the victor's schools. The "War of Northern Aggression" has been used by those who maintain that the Union side was the belligerent party in the war. (Benen, Steve (February 11, 2009). "War of Northern Aggression". The Washington Monthly.)

You can substitute "Second American Revolution" or even "Mr Lincoln's War" if you like, all three more closely reflect the nature of the conflict better than the term "Civil War"

As far as I'm concerned your muslim friends are NOT welcome in the fight for American liberty because their psudeo-religious/political beliefs, as described in their own holy books, the Koran and the hadiths, and as defined by their pedophilic prophet mohammed, define liberty in a way that is diametrically opposed to what I, and every other Patriotic, God fearing, Constitution loving American believes liberty to mean.
