Habits of the "rich", habits of the "poor"

How many?

You asked for a reason and I gave you one. You can do some research if you want to know how many.

Your problem is you think everyone who is successful had some sort of inheritance.

That's just more excuse making.

Successful people don't make excuses.

Actually, they appear to believe that there is a finite list of ways someone can become successful: Inheritance, theft, luck. That's it.

Sad.

No I don't think that. Your problem is that your blind to the fact some people have it much easier than others. We aren't exactly the most upwardly mobile county.

I wonder what percentage of "successful" people admit to "Screwing old ladies out of their houses" and "cheating the people who did the actual work".

Don't worry, Mac, keep kissing their asses, some day they'll notice.

FYI. JoeB is not an American and have never even visited the USA.

How many?

From the OP's poll - it looks like about 20% of the wealthy aren't doing anything better than the poor. So that looks like a good number to start with.

So 80% of successful people are successful because they do things differently than unsuccessful people.

No hard correlating data to back that up - but it looks like a reasonable estimate, based on the numbers provided in the original post.

Again, its a matter of priorities. You also seemed to have glommed onto just one little area of the information. To Me, the networking and proper management of time would be a better indicator, rather than what time I wake up. However, if it is important that you can successfully provide a comfortable living for yourself and your family, I think I would alter My daily habits to align more with those who have proven that their methods are useful.

Oh I think time management and networking can help. More so time management than anything...but it can be hard when people are working 2 jobs and have kids...he'll it's hard with one job and 2 kids to have time for yourself.

It's a lot of talk..

We all have the same number of hours in a given week.

Tell me why do some people with a job and 2 kids have the time to make themselves more successful and others don't?
No idea...I'm sure a whole host of reasons.

Sure if you want to post lazy.

But it doesn't take into consideration those who inherited opportunity, but who are at least smart enough to work to maintain what they got.

We are the most upwardly mobile country in the world. How is it that you can say that at all?

Having it easier is NOT AN EXCUSE for not making the effort and prioritizing life. If you don't think a successful career or money or material things are important, then you will set your priorities differently. However, if you want to have any modicum of success, there are habits and priorities that must be cultivated.

In the end, it is YOUR life. You are required to participate in it.

Many people inherit opportunity.
So, you plan on leaving nothing behind for your children? You are going to just give away all you have worked for and they can go fend for themselves?

I included a link for a reason. We are not the most upwardly mobile country, we rank rather poorly actually.

And where do we rank in terms of education?

um.....

wow stack the deck somewhat? I mean besides the percents being a joke for the most part. This is like taking an facebook poll and saying its legit.

How did he stack the deck? You must be confused because you believe he runs his poll like some ABC News poll that includes far more Democrats than Republicans. The results are posted in terms of percentages of the rich and percentage of the poor, not percentage of the total, so it the relative numbers of rich or poor aren't a factor.

How are the percentages "a joke?"

well, i understand math is hard so, when you have 233 people vs 128 people, and not an equal number of groups, your info will be skewed.

I know its hard to grasp for you.

I know it's hard for you to grasp, but if 25% of 128 poor people are lazy people with low motivation, We can assume that very close to 64 of 256 would be the same. Sure the margin of error is a few points skewed, but short proof of bias in the selection of his 128 poor people, you're a dumbfuck as usual.

No I'm going to do the opposite. I realize that my children need the help to get successful. You're saying they just need to do the things listed and they will be successful. I don't believe that.

Unfortunately this isn't the country of opportunity it once was. I'm sure many brilliant minds are held back because they were born poor.

Sorry, but I don't buy it. In no other nation can you start out dirt poor and by the time you retire, you can be a millionaire. Wikipedia is a suspect source to begin with. I'd be more open to a real study, not accomplished by stakeholders who have an interest in the outcome being against the United States.

Meaning that you plan on leaving behind as much accumulated wealth as you can for them.

That means that we can then blame them for having a 'head start' in life, eh?

Then you live in a fantasy land. I'm talking about the real world.
