It would be in my state.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ACTUAL DATA TO SUPPORT YOUR CLAIM?
You can teach them to understand the teacher better and better as they learn everything else.
If freshmen in high school don't know algebra from the start, they shouldn't be in school till they can. How dare they waste our time and money teaching them math, science, history, etc.If they can't understand the teacher from the start, they shouldn't be in school till they can. It's a distraction for other students and it slows the pace in the classroom which is a disservice to the other students.

ICE is all over the place here, but schools don't keep that kind of information. Kicking in the doors of every K-12 student in the country would not be the most productive use of time.ICE operates in all States under federal jurisdiction, not State laws. Your State can pound sand.
.
Then why can't they speak American English? I mean if they're born here.Again, THE MAJORITY OF ESL STUDENTS IN AMERICA'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE NATURAL BORN CITIZENS. How many times do I have to repeat this?
Sorry to poke holes in your emo position.
English may not be the language spoken at home. They may live in a community where news, music, sports, entertainment, etc. are all readily available in a language other than English. No law says you have to speak English to be a US citizen. Really. Then why can't they speak American English? I mean if they're born here.
I never said it was however, there is a reason your students want to learn it isn't there? It's not a requirement to BE a citizen.
IMO not teaching your children American English while living in America puts a burden on them. I am well aware it is not a legal requirement.English may not be the language spoken at home. That's one reason (among others) parents send their children to school to learn English (among other things).IMO not teaching your children American English while living in America puts a burden on them. I am well aware it is not a legal requirement.
Walk a mile.I have to wonder about the commitment to be an American citizen if a parent hasn't even seen to it that their child can even speak.
We are supposed to be a melting pot society, but that can't work if people refuse to melt.
