I'm not sure what grade you got in Civics class but our government, a Republic, is an extension of our will and our character as a people.

We Americans are charitable and compassionate. (most of us anyway)

The social safety nets represent in part who we are as Americans. We don't let people starve and die on the streets.

I'd like to think that some of the best of who we are as a country comes from the Sermon on the Mount.

Through private and public assistance we express our values as a people.

Those who actually believe and follow Jesus can see him in the poor families that would go hungry if not for SNAP program.

I dont know what indoctrination camp you attended but the government is not an extension of me. The gov't exists to serve my needs, not the other way around.
You want to emulate Jesus and live by the Bible. Go right ahead. Go write your check, work your food kitchen, sweep your homeless shelter. And we'll all admire you for it.
But don't volunteer our money so you can feel good about yourself.

Accepting same sex marriage and the normalcy of homosexuality is really separate from love and homosexual acts. Once you accept perversion, it becomes that much easier to accept another perversion and another after that. Germany and Sweden didn't wake up one morning and decide it would be a good idea to **** animals and open up legal animal brothels, it was a process. Accepting the perversion of homosexuality as normal behavior is part of that process. Accepting that a woman might actually be trapped in the body of a man and this is somehow normal, is a step to accepting that it might not be a woman, but a girl, or a boy, a ten year old. Now it's no longer pedophilia, it's two children playing doctor. They aren't transsexuals now, but they are transageists.

Of course we are moving along the highway of perversion. We will continue on that highway to the end of the road. Like every other civilization that decayed until they died.

Nope, never been there but you tell me about it when you find all your filings. I don't think money magically appears, but I do think the GOP is more interested in stuffing the pockets of the wealthy than they are at giving a hand up to those that are down.

People in this country have every opportunity to earn what they can. I grew up in a pretty nondescript, middle class house outside Kalamazoo, Michigan (where "kaz" comes from). I ended up getting multiple graduate degrees, working in GE management, management consulting, and owning my own businesses working across the USA literally from coast to coast as well as in Europe. No one did it for me, no one ever stopped me except me. You work through the failures and build on successes. Your lame cop out you can't be rich because you're not already rich is on you, girlfriend. Because no one else ever stopped you.
