If you violate the commandments regarding murder, theft, or perjury the state will put you in prison.

Where is this “separation of church and state” in our Constitution?

no one ever said there was,, one is called government and one is called church,,

now if a preacher is elected POTUS and uses his beliefs as a frame work for actions he takes it is perflecty fine,,

on the otherhand due to the 1st amendment the government can not go into a church and dictate what the church preaches or doesnt preach,,

if thats what you mean by separation of church and state you would be correct,,
