However..if he didn't try to have it both ways all the time..if he were to forcefully and undeniably condemn the entire white supremacist/white nationalist narrative--without caveat---we could move on. He won't do that..because it might lose him some of his base--so he talks out of both sides of his mouth.

He did say that they are "good" people.

He wasn't referring to White supremacists as being "good" people any more than he as referring to ANITFA as being "good" people. He said there were "good" people on BOTH sides. Do you really think he meant ANTIFA was "good"? If not, then whey do you think he meant that white supremacists were "good". In addition, if you read his entire speech he was very clear in both renouncing white supremacists and ANTIFA and also pointing out that there were other people there other than these two groups. Some simply protesting the taking down of statues which represented their Southern heritage and some that simply them taken down because they may have been offended. Those are the "good" people on both sides.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) owes President Trump an apology.
The FBI announced on Thursday during a press conference that it thwarted a plot by a so-called “right-wing militia” to kidnap and kill Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and overthrow the state government.
Early Thursday morning, federal agencies raided a house in Hartland, Michigan and arrested six men: Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta.
Whitmer immediately blamed the plot on President Trump telling the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by.”
“Hate groups heard the president’s words as a rallying cry, as a call to action,” Whitmer said blaming white supremacists.
