When in the hell is Obama going to be President? When is he going to be a leader instead of a little child? When is he going to grow up and realize not everything is going to be his way. When do you think he will stop lying about the sequester and stop f..king with people's lives?

Now that is stating the obvious. The administration is just making sure the American public is feeling the pain of the cute. Now at the same time, do you think that any of the countries that receive foreign aid from the US are being forced to feel the pain too? How many air traffic controllers would have to be laid off, if we cut that 3 billion aid package to Israel?

I realize that air traffic controllers are paid well but how freaking well? Doesn't seem like their wages would mean a hill of beans compared to 82 billion. Hell I would think that the many Obama vacations cost us more.

The sequester only demands budget cuts; it does not require furloughs of air traffic controllers. How the cuts are accomplished is completely in the control of the administration. Since air traffic controllers make more, on average, than the pilots that are actually flying the planes, perhaps the salaries have become a little rich (as federal salaries tend to do). They should simply reduce the salaries by 10% and let those that think they can do better in the private sector go if they wish.

In any case, the air traffic system is funded in large part by user fees/excise taxes on travelers; the federal government is merely the collections agent for a system already supported by the traveling public.

The GOP was willing to negotiate “smarter” cuts, even to the extent of giving the President the power to decide how those cuts would be allocated. He didn’t want that responsibility because then he would be likely to get the blame for them; leadership is apparently not his strong suit.
