Gas prices increase under Trump

They have gotten around the restrictions on building new refineries by modernizing and increasing output at old refineries.

The oil companies closed/open refineries when THEY want to. There's enough capacity to supply any and all petroleum needs with the refineries they have now. So there's no need to open any more.

The price of gas here is finally falling.

Prices have been falling since April of last year (2024.) But they've increased more since Trump has taken office than decreased.

Prices should be steadily going down., at least until they get to the mid $2.00 range ($2.50) Maybe a slower decline during the summer months. But still a decline. For the simple fact that they got extremely high.
After Obama's $4 gallon, they came back down to under $2.00 per gallon. Same as W's.

Record production and subsidies under Biden. The price was steadily going down.

Trump promised $2 gallon gas. And like all his other promises, it ain't happening.

Don't know what state you live in, but it is much cheaper here, than it was during OBiden's term.

I think you, and many others are missing the point of this thread. It's mainly about Trump lying when he promised $2 gallon gas. It's like his promised to zero out the national debt. But once elected, and he started signing all those spending bills, the national debt went up.
Like the national debt, gas price have increased since he's taken office. And none of his supporters are holding him accountable.

Trump supporters be like "Hey, the national average is down to $3.18. This is great. Thank you Mr. Trump.
If Biden were still in office they'd be like "The national average is still too high at $3.18.FUJB"

I will. Thank you, President Trump. I filled up my tank yesterday @2.90 a gal. Much better than OBiden's 4.50@ gal. And when the gas and oil companies get rolling again, it will be even cheaper.
Had the Dems won, in order to pass it's greenie agenda we would be paying $10.00 a gal, with a target rate of $13.00 a gal.

Fuel prices ARE still too high. Patience grasshopper, he's not done yet. I hope they get back down to 2020 levels before I buy my heating fuel this year. Biden doubled what I had been paying.

Memorial Day weekend and prices go up... just as demand is about to increase...

I'm no fan of Trump, but you can't pin this on him.
When you devalue the US dollar the cost to import oil rises. Would you say Trump is responsible for devaluing the US dollar?
Many EXPERTS say YES.

If oil and gas are down in price, why are we paying seven dollars for a quart of oil?
Because we are just starting to undo what Biden has done. Let's be fair and see what you are paying next year when Trump's deregulations are in full swing.

The oil companies have been in a boom cycle for over a year now. Prices still being high come from the inflation that big spending politicians like Biden, Trump, Obama & W have signed off on. Especially Trump, because he spent $8 trillion in just 4 years. It took Obama 8 years to spend that much. Biden was no help either, as he spent $6 trillion.

The point: Trump is no better than democrats, when it comes to spending and creating inflation.

After Obiden caused $6 gas I’ll be happy with $3.50 or whatever. As posted above….it ain’t over yet.

And that's how they get you. Increase prices real high, so that when they come down (still higher than before the increase started), we just happy they came down. The price at where they started to increase to where they settle, is the inflation that was created from all the spending. A loss in USD value.

We lost 16% value in the USD because of Trumps $8 trillion he spent. I haven't done the numbers on Biden's $6 trillion. But it'll probably be at least 11 to 12%. Either way, the two of them together gave us a net loss of about 28% of the USD value, in just 8 years.
And now with this new behemoth of a spending bill that's going to be signed into law, and Trumps last CR, we're going to lose a LOT more.

And the cycle will continue. Prices going up. Then wages have to go up to match prices. Then prices going up again. and on and on and on, like it's done since the RINO's merged with the democrats.

True it’s abort gas prices so why not compare gas prices over the last five years on Memorial Day weekend?

Why not see the price of gas since Trump took office, have increased more than they have come down. And then hold Trump accountable for lying about how he was going to get gas prices down?

Democrat states like WA have been robbing fuel consumers for the entire Biden admin under the guise of the new green deal and carbon taxes. As fuel prices increase so does their percentage-based taxes. In WA, those taxes add 55.4 cents to every gallon of gasoline. Democrats are responsible for more government theft than anything else.
