The picking Gaetz was simply Trump giving us a real shithead as AG, with all the chaos of a circus Trump knew would happen, so Pammy would look acceptable and even good, compared to him.

I think what was in the 'ruse' for Gaetz was that he was able to quit his congressman job before the Ethics report's release netting him an expulsion by Congress, and be able to SAY that he was quitting because he was picked as AG nominee, and needed prep time for Senate advice and consent hearings.....blah blah blah.

Well, it worked in the sense that Gaetz was not expelled by Congress cuz he already quit,

but it failed in the sense that the Ethics committee decided to release their ethics review report, anyway.

Gaetz's father is a big wig multi millionaire in Florida, with State influence.

If the allegations being made were in any way "believable", charges against Rep. Gaetz would have been filed by the Biden-Garland DOJ years ago for the violations of the Mann Act.

Or at the very least, leaked during the campaign to damage the congressman's reelection efforts.
