Kidnapped hostages get reparations from their captors.
The bidding should start $10M/hostage. Each kidnap victim should be made whole and his captors subjected to lengthy stays (decades) in their own gulag. We can make it like the Black Dolphin prison in Orenburg (it's worth a search, if you're not familiar with it).

The Jan 6 people were given astronomically high sentences that they do not deserve. That is what makes them hostages rather than inmates.
Their sentences were excessive while the democrats who rioted and set businesses on fire got no prison sentences at all. The elite democrats did not go out and haunt them down like they were dogs and drag them into courtrooms.
