Not all “gov control “ land is equal . You’re not putting a fence around a post office . National Parks ?! Indian reservations?! You think you can just unilaterally throw up a huge wall across those lands on a whim and not face considerable legal fights .

Because of the way the land is on the border. In some cases, they have to build it across their land to be able to make it work. There have already been several landowners on the news who have had a wall divide their property.
