Food insecurity is a real thing

Democrats have purposely tried to eliminate coal jobs.
Coal jobs are gone, dude. Did you look at the chart? They've been steadily falling for DECADES. Republican and Democratic adminstrations alike.

Like Trump said back in the 90s when he was honest about it. Coal miners' sons are fools for not leaving the mines.

I keep telling you, MAGA is not doing up and coming kids any favors, You are doing more harm than good by promising them the jobs of their fathers and not preparing them for the jobs of tomorrow.

China is. And we are going to lose our economic dominance because of it. Things are rapidly approaching a tipping point.

Stop looking backward.

Yeah, food insecurity was at a higher rate when Michelle Obama wanted school kids to eat fruits and vegetables and, instead, the kids threw those items in the trash.
Yep. The trash cans were filled with uneaten apples, celery spears, carrots, oranges. They could have fed the homeless in Los Angeles with what the kids threw away.

Oh, WAIT! Even the homeless people wouldn't eat that stuff.

Pass the Twinkies please.

Now that I think of it, a long time ago I used to eat low fat Twinkies and one day I went into a new convenience store I hadn't been in before and couldn't find any. So, I asked the person at the counter if they had any low fat Twinkies. The guy bust a gut laughing and I have to admit, I had to laugh right along with him. It was pretty damn funny.

Dude. That's being just as much a dick as those who deny food insecurity.

Offer a solution to the problem. Because nothing is working so far.

No, there is no moral equivalence.

Those who lack empathy for children need to be prohibited from being around your private spaces.

It's social excommunication.

Our schools are not private spaces.

My church certainly is not a private space.

Jesus welcomes everyone into his house, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Food insecurity. It exists. It hurts people from all walks of life.

Those who deny it lack empathy and should be excluded from your family, your church, your social organizations, your schools. Caveat: do feed their children if they suffer this insecurity. In fact, their children should be removed from parental control.

Yes, “food insecurity” is a real and well-defined concept used by governments, researchers, and humanitarian organizations worldwide.

Turn churches and charities loose. They will solve the problem. If we can adopt this mindset of charitable giving as a nation instead of looking to government, everybody will be better off in every way. Why?
1) The hungry will appreciate the personal interaction.
2) The donors will experience the virtue of charity.
3) The charity arrangement discourages graft and fraud.
4) Government will save money.

The reasons we're not doing this?
1) It goes against the Institutional Marxism promoted by the media
2) Leftwing politicians won't benefit.
3) It takes power away from the government.

Nope.

I have founded two faith-based charities, and I coordinate with all the churches and social organizations in my area, and the Chamber of Commerce, and we barely make a dent in our community's needs.

Your statement is a common erroneous assumption.

Oh for chrissakes!

Well, let's put it this way. Take government off the table, and charities will do so much better with the problem. Let's get government completely out of it. Volunteering and charity would completely change people, both the giver and givee.

Here's an example. The county north of here used to have a free clinic; doctors donating their time. The 0bamacare paid for everything, and the free clinic disappeared. So the charity aspect was wiped out. The government incurs FAR more costs through graft and inflated prices, and the gratitude aspect was wiped out by the patients.

There is no way in hell government should ever supplant charitable enterprises.

We tried that already. Before and during the Great Depression.

It was catastrophic. Churches and private organizations cannot handle all the need.

You are badly mistaken.

If it worked before, it would have worked before, and there would be no need for government help.

The problem in the 1920s was lack of technology to connect givers and recipients. Today, we could handle that easily. It's exactly the way the Christian health co-ops do it. It could be expanded to all programs for the needy.

In Samaritan Ministries, the health care co-op, a participant in need of care, registers the need with Samaritan. Other participants are sent the name and address of the person they will send their monthly "premium" to. It's all arranged perfectly. We are also asked to write letters of encouragement to the recipient.

In 2015, I had a quadriceps tendon rupture. Every single penny was paid for the tests, surgery, and PT. I paid zero. The system works fabulously. The reason it works is because there is no huge pile of money to be stolen. People send money directly to the other members. It could be done that way with everything.

But leftwing politicians would fight this tooth and nail. There is no way they want to cede all that power, wealth, and influence derived from controlling huge piles of money.

You mean the type of people who force children to learn from home, wear masks and get vaccinated for a virus that poses no threat to them whatsoever - all while closing parks and other recreational facilities where children like to play?

Or cut off their private parts after brainwashing them with gender confusion?

Or teaching them that their race defines them and dictates their destiny?

Yeah, those people are ******* monsters.

I suspect you are a Libertarian. I have a pretty wide Libertarian streak myself. However, Libertarians have shown they are totally ignorant of human behaviors.

The Libertarian side of me, and my gratitude for the gifts and advantages I have been given, motivated me to start those charities. Then I learned some hard lessons, but also gained even more gratitude for my blessings.

Anyway, I would strongly urge you to discover what life was like before a government safety net and read this book.
