Now here’s my question: why has Gd blessed a people with intelligence, motivation, a strong sense of family and community that has enabled them to prosper despite 2,000 years of persecution - and also avoid food deserts?

I'm not an antisemite, but I can read (the Bible), and I'm aware of Jewish history i.e. the Holocaust (such a blessing).

Now here’s my question: why has Gd blessed a people with intelligence, motivation, a strong sense of family and community that has enabled them to prosper despite 2,000 years of persecution - and also avoid food deserts?

This is an accident of history, and more of a necessity.

I thought you had to live within a certain distance from a synagogue, not a supermarket.

Our society and laws are more concerned with protecting the rights and feelings of the shoplifters.

I worked in a grocery store that had a shoplifting problem, so we started watching for and catching them. It got so 'messy' that we stopped. One well-dressed lady actually pee'd herself when confronted.
