Florida Judge Whacks Trump Lawyers With $1 Million In Sanctions For Misuse Of The Courts

“We are confronted with a lawsuit that should never have been filed, which was completely frivolous, both factually and legally, and which was brought in bad faith for an improper purpose,” Middlebrooks wrote in the 46-page order imposing sanctions of $937,989.39 against Trump and Habba.

Frivolous litigants are only encouraged by money grabbing lawyers. In Trumps enfeebled mental state the court should appoint a Dr to protect him from his own stupidity. Or maybe Ivanka could get control of his affair. A bit like Britneys Dad.

It hasnt been a good start to the year for Americas saviour..

I expect trumps friends on the mod team to close this thread shortly.

Anyone who gets involved with Trump ends up being screwed.

Federal District Court Judge Donald Middlebrooks on Thursday dropped the hammer on former President Donald Trump's attorneys by hitting them with sanctions totaling nearly $1 million for what he described as "misuse of the courts

In a court order flagged by Politico's Kyle Cheney, Middlebrooks raked Trump's lawyers over the coals for their failed lawsuit against Hillary Clinton for purportedly defaming him by accusing him of being Russian President Vladimir Putin's puppet during the 2016 campaign.

"This case should never have been brought," Middlebrooks began his order. "Its inadequacy as a legal claim was evident from the start. No reasonable lawyer would have filed it. Intended for a political purpose, none of the counts of the amended complaint stated a cognizable legal claim."

You’ve now had your way to many days in court loser. From now on it’s going to be costly for you to be anywhere near a courthouse.
Oh no,not another 'Trump Triggered Us Again' thread.

enjoy paying yer fines boys.
You’re a gullible little twerp, Goonblow.

This “sanction” is unlikely to stand.

Even assuming that the “law” currently says that a “public figure” (here, meaning Trump) can’t sue for libel or slander (subject to a few exceptions), that does not mean that a lawyer is prohibited from attempting to bring suit against a defaming defendant (here, meaning a Shrillary). A lawyer can file such a suit if the lawyer has a valid basis (such as one of the exceptions to the general rule) OR if the lawyer is attempting to have the law modified or changed.

This judge’s imposition of sanctions on the lawyers is not just muddled in its bases, but seems to be political in its own right.

It is certainly possible that the lawyers won’t have to pay a fucking some.

That would be the same Federal Judge that was appointed by Bill Clinton that dismissed the Trump lawsuit against Hillary Clinton? With all due respect, Skews? The left loves to get liberal Federal Judges to rule for them and then declare a "victory". Does it really mean anything? Those rulings almost always get appealed.

It was a civil suit. There is no appeal. And in case you haven’t heard, the orange assclown withdrew his suit against the NY attorney general today to cut his losses.

Do you realize this makes three times now Hillary Clinton has kicked his ass?

How'd 2016 work out?

If I were Trump, I'd go to a higher court to discuss this outrage. Hillary Clinton beat herself up trying to hurt Trump, and she saw to it liberal judges were stuffed into the courts on her Husband's presidential watch. He kept bragging "two for the price of one." He didn't speak of indecency's price. :cranky:

Judge Refuses To Dismiss Contempt Against Ex-Trump Aide Peter Navarro.

A judge on Thursday denied a motion by Peter Navarro, a former adviser to ex-President Donald Trump, to dismiss contempt charges over his refusal to comply with a congressional subpoena by the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.

Navarro was charged with one count of contempt of Congress after failing to supply documents to the committee, and another for not showing up for testimony. He has pleaded not guilty.

He has asserted executive privilege to explain his behavior toward the panel, but U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta said Navarro’s claim to that authority is unsubstantiated and therefore he “cannot avoid prosecution for contempt.”

Navarro had said that Trump urged him to assert executive privilege over the House committee requests during a private conversation, but the former aide has not produced evidence to support this.
