Yet another thing the left has destroyed by bringing their politics into it.

Never liked this guy anyway

The Left destroys everything it touches, including national pride.
How is Biden responsible for that?
What a load of crap. You can't talk about national pride when you make ridiculous statements like that. You're a national disgrace.

Rapinoe and Lebron should hook up, move to Red China and have babies they could mold in their own, woke image. That alone would go a long way toward cleaning up this country.

Because the sonofabitch is a filthy ass Left Winger and the Left supports all this destruction of our nation.

The very things that those bitches were showing their asses over are the very thing that Joe Dufus and the filthy Democrats support.

We Americans use to be supportive of our military but Dufus has turned it into a a branch of the Leftest Revolutionary Guard in addition to the queers, transsexuals and stupid affirmative action Negroes. How can we have pride in a military that kicks out Patriots and spends more time training on stupid diversity and CRT than it spends on military preparedness?

How can we have pride in a nation that won't even protect its sovereignty at the border?

How can we have pride in nation where the the government hates the White people that made this country great and kisses the ass of the welfare Black scum? Then tells us that we the biggest terrorist threat to this country?

Failed Liberal economic polices are destroying the economy and that destroys our pride.

"I think people are asking the question 'How can we rally around this team?' and in that what the team really stands for whether it's equal pay or racial equality or LGBTQ rights..."

And there's the problem, right there.

When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's, Olympic athletes and teams "stood for" America. Period. That was it. There was none of this woe-is-me-social-justice bullshit. Sure, we had problems, and those problems were set aside in the interest of international sport and competition. This fucking dyke wanted to win a medal for one single reason: so she could stand on the podium and protest against the very country which sent her to the Olympics on the biggest stage she could find.

How absolutely disgusting and reprehensible.

This team should be disbanded and the members be prohibited from ever participating on a US Olympic team. They're disgusting individuals who absolutely do not represent our country in any way, shape or form.

This woman is a pig, and the stunning defeat of the US women's soccer team will forever be viewed as one of the shining moments of this Olympics...

I read many disparaging remarks by rightist on this site about the females soccer team when they lost the first and second game.
first of all it's just a game

Were you in a coma in the 60s?

The social justice bullshit was far less rampant.

No one knew that Smith and Carlos were going to do that. Their act also got them expelled from the games.

This time around, though, we had athletes actually announcing their intentions to protest. They weren't competing to prove they were the best in the world. They were competing so they could have an opportunity to protest on the world's largest stage: The Olympic Games.

Not everything is political, nor should it be. Those who insist on that, however, will be the sole reason why the things they're protesting for will never be realized. People have had it with their bullshit and are saying that enough is enough. When you have a chorus of cheers coming from the very countrymen of those who lost, there's a very real problem, and that problem's not with those cheering.

1968 and Tokyo 2020 have very little in common...

Think Americans are scared of Soccer taking over as your national sport.
It will eventually happen. 211 countries have National Teams playing the beautiful game. How many play that funny game with the crash helmets & padding where the action stops about every seven seconds?

In 1968, Many Black Athletes boycotted the Olympics. Those that were there still engaged in protests with Smith and Carlos the most visible.
1972 saw the terrorist attack against Israel
1980 was boycotted by the US

Politics always played a role in the Olympics

Which they turned into a political statement. If they want to be taken seriously as a protest then they should take the criticism that comes along with it. They're getting what they wanted, to be taken seriously.
