Millions of Americans—largely those on the Left but also on the Right—suddenly have been stricken by this burning desperation to despise one another, to want to report each other to the authorities, to be models of conformity with the evil that has taken some of our rights and freedoms and is threatening to steal away the rest of them. And it is truly insane. Anyone with brain one in their heads knows that a fucking tissue thin paper or fabric mask will not stop the spread of a virus. Just like any non-delusional person realizes you can't have a fucking global viral epidemic without piles of bodies stacked in the streets. PEOPLE WANT to believe the worst, both about each other and the state of the world in general. It has turned most everyone into crackpot coronavirus zealots, much like the cocoon people from Invasion of the Body Snatchers. How many sane Americans remain?
