The knockout game

I doubt they've made an announcement, but judging by the guy's body language and the picture of him and that he was living in a homeless shelter, it was probably due to mental illness.

This can't happen.

I am not sure what the answer is for mentally ill folks.

But someone has to be able to stand on a corner and not worry about getting creamed like that.

I have read nothing about her condition, but she could potentially suffer life-long consequences from this attack.

He attacked her because he is evil and thought he could get away with it.
If he was "thinking", he certainly wouldn't walked away casually, waiting for the next instruction from the voices in his head, Cockroach.

I agree. This is terrible. But we are the ones who decided that we needed to close down all the mental hospitals back in the 1970's.

No, it shows that your system is biased and racist.

It does no such thing.

We might do it that way.....that's not an issue with capital punishment.

Here's a big clue for you. When was the last time we executed a rich person?

Not a clue at all.

How many rich peope on death row for obvious crimes vs others ?

The Rich tend to be a little smarter.

You left no moral compass off of your list.

Because truly insane and evil people are actually.. kind of rare.

You see, when you have other countries where they have gun control and socialized medicine and generous welfare programs, they don't have to lock up 2 million people like we do with another 7 million on probation or parole.

Germany locks up only 80,000 people. Japan only locks up 37,000, and their biggest challenge for the police now is old people who commit shoplifting to the police will pay attention to them.

only barbarians do capital punishment. The civilized world has largely abolished it.
We define civilization differently. I define a civilization as a safe place for decent people to live in.

Social reform and social welfare spending did not reduce the crime rate during the 1960's. It doubled. Crime began to decline in the 1980's when the prison population rose.

I am confident that if punishment became swift, certain, severe, inexpensive, and frequent, and if police brutality was decriminalized, that the crime rate would decline dramatically.

Or they can afford better lawyers.

Take, for instance, OJ Simpson. He BRUTALLY murdered two people. The LA District Attorney IMMEDIATELY took the Death Penalty off the table. OJ then hired a shitload of really corrupt lawyers and bullshitted a jury into an acquittal.

Those countries have fewer Negroes and Hispanics than we do. Countries with Negro or Hispanic majorities always have high crime rates.

I define it on how it takes care of the most vulnerable members of society. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.

Actually, Cockroach, you are confused. Crime rates doubled in the 1960's because that's when the Baby Boomers came of age. It started declining in the 1990s (not the 80s) because that's when the Boomers started aging out of the "Doing Dumb Shit Age Bracket".

I am confident that if punishment became swift, certain, severe, inexpensive, and frequent, and if police brutality was decriminalized, that the crime rate would decline dramatically.

Yeah, um, we saw how that worked on in 2020 when people got quite fed up with that shit.

He thought that because he is black people like you would give him psychological therapy, rather than the punishment he deserves.

Vulnerable members of society deserve to be protected from criminals.

The lenient criminal justice system of 2020 empowered the George Floyd rioters to cause at least two billion dollars of damage.

Do we know why he attacked her ?
He was having fun. He's black. He has a right to have fun and enjoy himself. It's in the constitution, pursuit of happiness. Ever hear of it? He has a right, and you know, there's slavery and all.

I smile because I know you are being facetious. When JoeB131 writes that way he is serious.

I am being facetious. I have also heard that excuse from more black criminals than I care to count. I saw this coming in 1985.
