Fearless leader to address the children

Look....I don't see the problem here

In 15 to 20 years when we elect a republican president again, he will be free to address schoolchildren

Unlike Dems, Republican Presidents believe that the Presidency is a real job

Because they screwed up so badly the last time they had the presidency

It will be a generation before they are trusted with that job again

Then I Know who your Dog in this Fight is... And you Know Mine.

Get used to AmeriKKKa looking More and More like Castro's Cuba.

peace...

And in 2012 or 2016 when we have another peaceful transition of power all of these threads filled with paranoia are going to look mighty silly.

Kinda like all those nutters who thought Bush was forming a dictatorship and would find away to keep his office.

When I say those things will be the Result, have that Argument with me THEN...

Until then, Stop Evading and Deflecting...

What Barry is doing Taking his Agenda to the Children of Voters on OUR Dime is Wrong...

Yes, I heard he was going to ask the teachers to use all clauses of the 1700-page House Health Care Bill as homework assignments for the next two months. After that, they start on cap & trade and offer input to the appropriate committees, since they will have learned and absorbed all about committee influence on bill progression in Congress from the first session on Civics 101. Finally, to progress to the next grade level, the students will learn how to appropriately check off the D boxes on an election ballot and never, ever anything else which means automatic fail.
 :cuckoo:

How is this address effectively any different from the "Weekly Reader" content we used to get? It often featured this type of exercise. The President's face was on the cover, along with an assignment and questions to think about and to be discussed in class. Now we're in the video age. Same thing, different format.

I think a good majority of you have lost your minds.:cuckoo:

I just received this email back from our superintendent:

"President Obama’s message to students will be video streamed live from the White House government website on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. However, the district has no plans to mandate its viewing. The President’s message will also be archived and available for download following the live broadcast. Teachers may elect to retrieve the speech at a later time and use it where appropriate at their grade level. If a teacher does incorporate this into their future classroom instruction, an alternative assignment would be given to any student who chooses not to participate.

You will also have the opportunity to review the President’s broadcast at Welcome to the White House following the live address."

No mandate to watch and a choice as to whether the children will participate in future assignments in reference to this speech.

Mandates, no. Choice, yes. WTG!

He is going to ask the children to let his administration know if their parents don't agree with him, or do not support his deathcare I mean his Healthcare program. Once reported the children will be removed and sent to training camps and Parents will be interned for Obamacare treatment of disidents, racists, and nonsupporters!!! (EXTERMINATION) or medical recycling of body parts for use in sick Democrat supporters

Yes, YES, EXACTLY!!!

What the republicans really need to fear is what will happen when schoolchildren begin to learn about what really happened during the Bush administration
1. US suffered its worst terrorist attack in its history
2. A US President lied about WMDs to start a war against a nation that wasn't a threat
3. The US openly engaged in TORTURE at the presidents direction
4. The president botched the execution of two wars
5. The republican party lead the nation into the worst recession in 70 years
6. The president directed that basic human rights such as a speedy trial, right to face your accuser, right to an attorney be ignored and kept innocent people captive for years

Yes, American children will be "indoctrinated" for every generation to come

I just checked the Constitution to be sure..

Nowhere does it say the President is not allowed to talk to schoolchildren. Even if it is just to read "My Pet Goat"

I can't find the Federal Department of Education in my copy, mine has no mention of an Education Czar either.

There's no Drug Enforcement Agency nor Border Patrol contained in my copy either. And the single word "defense" nowhere includes the CIA, FBI, FEMA and all the other myriad agencies of the behemoth Homeland Security. My how the country has grown since the Constitution was signed, eh?

Your point, genius?

This kind of direct and highly coordinated intrusion by the federal government into every public school and every class K-12 is astounding.

The fact some of you embrace it - even more so.

Read your history folks - such intrusion by government is never a good thing.

It's not intrusion when Democrats do it

Nor was it when Republicans did it. The fact that you hysterical morons believe that the President of the United States wants to get students familiar with the process of government is part of some sort of grand takeover conspiracy is way beyond insane. One can only hope you look back on your absurd observations and ask yourselves WHAT WAS I THINKING?!

Frankly I'd be thrilled if Obama would just say to my students "STFU and do your ******* homework. Maybe then someday you can get into Harvard and become POTUS" That would absolutely secure my vote for him in his re-election.

Students can: "Write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president. These would be collected and redistributed at an appropriate later date by a teacher to make students accountable to their goals."

^Hey, A15... You like this from ANY President, or just Obama?...

:)

peace...

The best teachers I had in my formative years were those who included their students in the learning process, rather than just lecturing. And then I went on to learn HOW TO learn. Think about that. People like you are sadly lacking in that ability.

Maggie, just because you refuse to see the forest, doesn't mean it's not there. The similarities between Obama's agenda and Hitler and other dictators, is strikingly obvious. How many individual pieces of the puzzle are you going to try to explain away as innocent policy moves before you take a look at the whole picture?

*******************************************************************

"Education played a very important part in Nazi Germany in trying to cultivate a loyal following for Hitler and the Nazis. The Nazis were aware that education would create loyal Nazis by the time they reached adulthood. The Hitler Youth had been created for post-school activities and schools were to play a critical part in developing a loyal following for Hitler - indoctrination and the use of propaganda were to be a common practice in Nazi schools and the education system."

Nazis Education

For one thing, I have yet to see one of YOU explain exactly what that "whole picture" might be. You do a helluva lot of assuming and projecting, but fall very very short on factual evidence.

You seem like a nice enough person - but read your history.

Such intrusion is highly suspect.

This is going too far - the federal government, namely the President, should not be entering our public schools so directly.

If GW Bush had been doing this, you would be screaming bloody murder - and rightly so.

Stand on principle, not partisan loyalty.

Bush spoke at several schools during his first term. He also spoke to student bodies by video conference. GWB was also, to his credit, a big advocate of improving our education standards which have fallen way behind competitive nations.

I can't find the Federal Department of Education in my copy, mine has no mention of an Education Czar either.

Show me a single law that prohibits the President of the United States from adressing schoolchildren..

If not STFU

It's called, "Being an adult" and the President should be one and not a man child who needs love and adoration so desperately that he will go to 4th Graders!

Actually, I think you guys are scared that the fourth graders will have more intelligent and eloquently stated questions that you do.

It's called, "Being an adult" and the President should be one and not a man child who needs love and adoration so desperately that he will go to 4th Graders!

"We the People" elected President Obama
As president he values the institution of education and is free to address the children of this country on the necessity of an education. If you don't want a president who supports the education of the American children you are free to vote for the republican of your choice

Here's what the ManChild thinks of chillun:

"I am happy to be very clear how we enforce mandates for children, and the reason is because children don't have an option." -- America's Most UnAmerican President, Barack Adolph bin Hussein Obama

Maybe one of the kids will ask him about that?

Didn't I already respond to that quotation? Like how are children supposed to execute "options"??

The Weekly Reader still exists. It's not just used in public schools but in adult education classes where ESL is taught. Many immigrants who want to become citizens also find that little paper full of information on how government works.

Okay, fellas, I guess you can put THAT major conspiracy theory to bed. So what's next?

I know it still exists, I'm out of school now, though.
