The children don't vote and I highly doubt they will be able to influence their parents vote.

What will likely happen is 2 days later they will forget all about the President's speech and continue to be more concerned about their latest crush or when the new Miley CD is coming out.

Funny statement coming from you who never posts any valid facts or links. This was a first for you, I believe. On the contrary, I can back up what I say 99.99% of the time (which is where the "keeping it honest" part comes in). I don't believe in posting shit from blogsites or other message boards. I'm not an extremist and I don't intentionally lie for the sake of partisanship. Show me where I have ever overreacted like some of the knee-jerkers who post here.

This thread is a case in point. This president's #3 priority is EDUCATION. Why? Because he is aware of the statistics showing how the US is failing badly at the pre-college levels, in spite of NCLB. And yet the extremists see some sort of "conspiracy" simply because he wants to take a few hours (if that) to try to get students involved in Civics 101 (which isn't even taught anymore in many schools). Sorry, but that kind of ignorance puts me in PISSED OFF mode.

I've never claimed I wasn't partisan. But I do HATE this new breed of foolish conservatives. I've said many times before that I do not HATE Republicans and that I strongly feel sane conservatism and capitalism are necessary components for this DEMOCRATIC Republic to survive. But people have gone over the top this time around and it is downright frightening to watch how gullible so many have become.

The conservative lawmakers and pundits undoubtedly (perhaps unwittingly) plant the seeds for this destructive behavior because their ultimate goal is the Rovarian "Republicans Forever" pipedream. But they have a dangerous influence on, shall we say, the lesser educated masses who mistakenly believe, because of their rhetoric, that there's a Commie or a Muslim behind every tree, and that Obama is out to turn the USA into a country under martial law and where minorities and illegals are superior.

Again, if you can't see that is what pisses me off and not normal partisanship which has been with us for eons, then you have my sympathies for lack of comprehension.
