I agree, but it's something, I guess, we are expected to accept. Politicians are allowed to get away with all kinds of things that would send a private citizen to prison.

If a politician does happen to get convicted, they usually get really light sentences.

The system is messed up, and the weird thing is, all this happens in plain sight, and the people never really question it. Well, they do, but only if it's the opposition that is committing the crimes.

It stopped being by, of, and for the people, a long time ago. All of these things we bicker about, both sides do it. We just get into this mode of offense or defense depending on the letter next to the name of the person who is in office, when the entire system is corrupted and needs major changing.

Anyway, I apologize for the derail. I guess sometimes I get into this mode where I find the debates to be pointless because in the end, it really makes no difference. In the end, those people in Washington are going to do what they want to do, regardless of what the people want.

It's funny how the system works, if you think about it. We elect people based off of a few campaign promises (that they never really do), to govern every aspect of our lives, but I've never had a politician ever actually come and ask me what I want.
