A terrible statement about our "blind" justice system.
If you can afford and expensive lawyer it is quite beneficial to those in the upper class.
They escape justice or get a very light sentence.
I don't think they'll serve a day behind bars.
Something to remember..... Career lawyers at Justice are mostly liberal scumbags.
Keep that in mind. Just a fact.
Remember Ted Stevens?
Republican Senator from Alaska? He was indicted on VERY similar charges and found guilty at trial.
Incidentally, he lost his Senate race because of it.
But a Judge, a Federal Judge, found that Stevens was improperly convicted and that the charges against him were mostly made up.

Yeah, Eric Himmler applied for the dismissal of the charges but he had NO choice but to do so. When someone has NO choice but to do something, they deserve NO credit for doing so.
Great..... But Republicans still lost a Senate Seat. And a lot of reputation to go along with it. The Federal Judge also instituted an investigation and took it out of the hands of the criminals in the Holder Justice Department.
Tom DeLay, former Repubican House Whip. Conviction overturned with extreme prejudice. The Judge there said essentially the same thing. Political prosecution.
But we still lost one of the best 'whips' in Congressional History and DeLay is still reviled by dimocrap scum..... For no reason, I might add.
Same with Karl Rove.... He did nothing wrong but the dimocrap scum Fitzgerald prosecuted him based on shit evidence and cost him everything he owned.
Are the charges against McDonnell real or just more dimocrap scumbag lawyers on the loose?
I don't know, but I DO know this...... We need to take a HARD look at the Shield Laws covering prosecutors in this Country. For Instance, IMO, Mike Nifong should have gotten a minimum of twenty years at hard labor.
Personally, I would like to have seen him executed for trying to take the lives of innocent, but stupid, College Kids whose only crime was being stupid College Kids.
And don't even get me started on the McMartin pre-school trials.
People who use the power of their office to abuse every-day citizens should be punished FAR more severely than average criminals.
