Every single Senate Democrat just BLOCKED a GOP proposal requiring photo ID in nationwide elections

What are the numbers of people and their names saying that they want to vote but don’t have the necessary supporting documentation to vote?

I have no idea why but there are many young people who don't drive.

If they want to vote? The government has to provide the means.......no charge.

Older people may decide to stop driving but still vote.

Democrats need to get these numbers and names and put the onus on Republicans to provide the infrastructure and funding if necessary.

The courts will do it.

If Republicans are unable to get that infrastructure in place for the names of people nationwide who have stepped forward, then those names and faces get an exemption for the upcoming election.

What a mess.

Which then begs the question, what was it really for?

Control. To see how easy it is to make people buy anything and jump through hoops.

REAL ID was about proving identity not citizenship. To qualify one must be a US citizen OR legally present in the US (Green Card, Refugee, Asylee).

WW

You have to pay for them. Has no one paid attention to the many court rulings over this?

If you have to buy an ID to vote, that then becomes a poll tax.

After calling the county clerks office, I called the secretary of states office. The lady I talked to told me she would call me back. That was two days ago.

So? I have to pay to drink clean water. It's a survival tax.

BS, democrats were able to force through vote-by-mail in less time during the presidential election which had already started.

I cast my first mail-in ballot in 1978. Mail-in voting is not new.

Actually it started around the Civil War time frame.

it doesn't prove anything that previous ones did.

It was a response based on a recommendation from the 9/11 Commission to standardize ID requirements to be valid for federal purposes.

Yes, to see how easily people will jump. It still doesn't actually do anything today.

"(c) Valid Photo Identifications Described.--For purposes
of this section, a `valid photo identification' means, with
respect to an individual who seeks to vote in a State, any of
the following:
``(1) A valid State-issued motor vehicle driver's license
that includes a photo of the individual and an expiration
date.
``(2) A valid State-issued identification card that
includes a photo of the individual and an expiration date
issued by a State motor vehicle authority.
``(3) A valid United States passport for the individual.
``(4) A valid military identification for the individual.
``(5) A valid identification document issued by a Tribal
government that includes a photo of the individual and an
expiration date."

So in other words, you need either a motor vehicle, live in a state that isues id's, be in the military, or be a native American.

Just out of curiousity what happens to those that don't fit those criterea but are eligible voters?

If the purpose is "free and fair elections", why is it that you seem to argue to take the right to vote away from so many?

Which state doesn’t issue ID?

I was active duty.

If it was good enough for me, and it's good enough for President Trump***, it's good enough for others.

Oh, and mail-in voting today is nothing like it was back then. Now ballot packages are QR/Bar Code to specific individuals and tracked from time of issuance to time of return, once returned they hen have to pass security checks. These tracking systems prevent (A) fraudulant ballots being "dumped" into the system, (B) prevent "double voting" (i.e. mail-in and in-person), (C) provide for quality checks based on the number of ballots issued and the number of ballots counted.

WW

*** President Trump just recently voted mail-in ballot in the Florida Special Election even though he was physically present in the district during the voting period being at MAL to play golf on 3 days during the period.

So, you had a valid reason. You weren’t too lazy to get off your couch.

Did you read the proposed legislation yet?

Come on man.

There was only election fraud in 2016 and 2024. 😂
Oh come on man, there has been election fraud in every election since the first, EXCEPT for the 2020 election. Strangely, during a pandemic and lockdown conditions with mail-in voting, 2020 was the only time there was absolutely no election fraud, (yes you read it right, zero) and the political establishment, the MSM and the DNC confirmed it.

But are only 5 states complying with the federal law?

What part of the REAL ID Act DOES NOT require citizenship status to be indicated on the REAL ID did you not get?

The Democrats are goose-stepping Leftist goons who are absolutely committed to destroying our election system by flooding it with illegals and cheaters of all stripes.
They cannot justify their votes and don't even bother to anymore. It's right up front: "Yep. We're corrupt as hell and you can't do a thing about it."

So, you had a valid reason. You weren’t too lazy to get off your couch.

Your opinion of a valid reason is noted, but that isn't the law. In Virgina, no reason is required to request one.

Did you read the proposed legislation yet?

I've read the SAVE Act before.

And I read you link, which is why I said I don't have an issue with the Voter ID requirement. However the legislation goes into effect the day after it being signed into law. We already have elections going on, so if this was for 2028 allowing time for implementation - that would be fine.
