Simple way to to set up a icon for your control panel
Right Click on Start Button

Left click on settings

Personificationlk.....Left click personfication button requires some searching around on the site

left click on theme ....have to search the location for the control panel button

control panel.....click apply

It was rather easy even for me....not hitech at all.

Open Windows\System32
search "control.exe"
Create shortcut, paste to desktop.
While you're in there, do same with "Taskmgr.exe" too.

What version do you have? I have 10, and I just click on the lil blue MS logo on my task bar thing then click on settings. It's to the left of the Search box.

If you have a taskbar, your can find the icon and drag it to the desktop.

My Control Panel icon just up and disappeared.

Windows is dictatorial and resists all efforts for folks to control their own computer.

I find if you right click, right click, left click, centre click, back click, back click, then right click, it's NOWHERE near there.

They did not even move your thread that is apparently in the wrong place and belongs to the computers section.

Yes, Microsoft has definitely made moves to hide basically all programs and ways to control what happens on your computer.
In it's place are ads and ads and more ads.

I remember arguing about this many years ago....definitely too many forums.

The mods are the price we pay for having a message board....the ones here are better than most....though that is not saying a lot.
