"Major Israeli financial institutions woke up to the news today that a Dutch pension fund has pulled out its investments because of the banks’ involvement in the occupied West Bank. The move,*first reported byHaaretz‘s Barak Ravid, means that tens of millions of euros from the fund would be pulled out from five Israeli banks:*Bank Leumi, Bank Hapoalim,*Bank Mizrahi-Tefahot, Israel Discount Bank and*the First International Bank of Israel."

According to the article, the pension fund that made the announcement is PGGM, one of the biggest in the world. The banks affected have either branches in illegal settlements or finance the settlements’ construction.

PGGM explained, in a statement, that the decision to divest came after engagement with the banks made clear they would not halt activities in the occupied territories. *

”For several years PGGM has been in dialogue with these banks,” the statement said. “The reason for this engagement was their involvement in financing Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories. This was a concern, as the settlements in the Palestinian territories are considered illegal under international humanitarian law.”

And here we read why these BDS actions are growing stronger:"PGGM cites the International Court of Justice’s 2004 advisory opinion that West Bank settlements are in violation of the Geneva Convention."

So when the pension funds go bust what will you say then. You need to be aware that many pension funds in Europe are barely keeping afloat and have changed the rules to pay out less when you retire. The ones that were doing the best happened to be those that ploughed money Into Israeli companies. But amusingly enough, very respected universities in USA, including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, MIT and nearly 100 others, said they're against it and act against the boycott. more than 100,000 academic and educational staff members openly said they're against the violent step and object and kind of boycott on Israeli academies.

So, as you see, when you try to hurt Israel, it will most probably hurt YOU at the end.
