Dr. Oz can still win this Senate race if he makes it about the issues; if it is an issues race and Dr. Oz has moderate policies or right policies than he wins because Democrats are wrong on the policies and John Fetterman has fully embraced this Progressive Democrat agenda that has permeated their party.
On immigration, Dr. Oz should be for completing "The Wall" because it works, it keeps people from illegally crossing the border. In addition, Dr. Oz should be for comprehensive immigration reform, comprehensive immigration reform that permanently solves the illegal immigration problem, yes comprehensive immigration reform because that is the only immigration policy that will work. We need to legalize the illegals that have been in the country for over three years one because in many cases it is just they have worked for decades in this country, America for such a long time used their labor so we owe them permanent residency and a path to citizenship. With respect to the others it is strictly a practical consideration we have to get the number of illegals in this country low enough that the system can handle identifying them, apprehending them and deporting them. The keystone of the comprehensive immigration reform policy is that the Federal Government must do away with asylum claims in the system except for countries at war where Congress has passed a resolution allowing citizens from that country to receive asylum status and for those people they have no right to be admitted into this country they must make their claim from outside our borders. This is key because unless the system does away with asylum claims it will continue to have the system flooded with illegal immigrants seeking to get legal status in America through this exception. There is other necessary conditions in the comprehensive immigration reform policy at the border there must be an expedited system to process illegals and deport them and throughout the country the system must not have any catch and release it should be apprehend and hold until the legal process is concluded and the illegal is deported! If initially this cost a ton of money so be it this problem is ruining America so it must be permanently resolved. On the asylum issue in the new system no one will have a right to claim asylum unless they are from a country at war and the Congress has specifically designated people have a right to apply for asylum; however, the Secretary of Homeland should have the power to grant up to four thousand extreme hardship visas per year which allows the recipient to stay and work in the country the Secretary can make address publicly available for people to send a written application for their is no appeal process it is completely discretionary determination by the Secretary. This would be for cases like where a women from a foreign country received significant bodily injury from her husband and if she doesn't get out of her home country it is almost certain she will be killed at the hands of her husband, situations that could cause extreme embarrassment to the U.S. not providing help to such a foreigner!
Dr. Oz should come out with a policy where legislation is passed banning pharmaceutical companies from charging Americans significantly more for pharmaceuticals than they do in major developed countries that are America's competitors. It is unfair that Americans have to pay dramatically higher prices for these necessary drugs. Drug prices are a real problem in America and I think Dr. Oz should support a policy where drug companies who have had their drug on the market for five or more years cannot raise the price of their drug on an annual basis higher than the inflation rate whichever is higher the CPI or the wage inflation index, drug companies can apply for an exception to this mandate if for some reason the safety or efficacy of their drug is in question and they have to do a costly study, compelling reasons like this!
Dr. Oz should come out for measured reform of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The price of health insurance and health care in America is killing America and the Democrat goal of a single payer system essentially "Medicare for all" would be so expensive it would collapse the American government and the American economy in time! To get to the crux of the problem with the ACA is that it has all these mandates on health insurance to try to provide good coverage if someone gets sick but each mandate adds costs to the insurance and collectively it adds huge cost, the Democrats and Obama administration were told this but they kept denying this reality and it eventually hit America like being struck in the head with a stick. In the beginning of the Trump administration, the Republican House and the Republican Senate tried to reform the Affordable Care Act but one of the major problems they made is that no one specifically could know what health insurance would look like in the end, the Republican idea was to kick the issue to the states and give each state the power to repeal one or more ACA mandates, this is especially the case in regard to the ACA's prohibition on denying or charging more for pre-existing conditions the American people didn't want this mandate to disappear. Dr. Oz should come out with a proposal to reform the ACA having the Congress come up with a low-cost mandate bundle, Americans can stay with the regular ACA insurance if they want but those that want to lower their health insurance premium cost can go with the lower-cost mandate bundle. The idea here is not to create a bundle where if someone has a serious health problem they won't be able to get affordable great care, the idea is let us put in some responsible cost controls. Prudence calls for things like currently there is an ACA mandate that says preventive healthcare must be free to enrollees; how about just making preventive healthcare exempt from the deductible. If enrollees have to pay a co-pay for the preventive care in at least many cases people will consider things like their age, family history and restraint advocacy experts in deciding to get preventive care which will lower insurance companies provider expense. Prudence calls for things like not mandating mental health care be treated like physical health care what I mean is put the onus on psychiatrist and psychologist to
help make their patients independent, limit the annual coverage to like eight visits per year unless of course the person is suicidal or schizophrenic or something serious like that, before the ACA health insurance plans often had such limitations!
I don't know if Dr. Oz prior remarks preclude him from adopting the following policy but if they don't he should definitely adopt the policy that the Federal government should pass a law banning the sale of assault rifles and the sale and possession of high capacity magazines in America. We have an epidemic of gun violence in most of our major cities across America. I am sixty years old and I have never seen it this bad this is a major contributor to the ruin of America and America is spiraling down here; seriously it is so bad that the Federal Government should be issuing warnings to the general public don't move or reside in certain cities it is just to dangerous to be there. And of course if the Federal government has to do that about its own sovereign territory it has failed as a central government. What other options does the Federal government have to stop the daily shocking gun death and violence rate?
Dr. Oz should come our against the Democrats minimum wage of $15.00 per hour. The Democrats have a bad viewpoint here that they believe the minimum wage should be a livable wage. The minimum wage should support a livable wage but it shouldn't be that rate. It must be remembered that employers have to pay that rate meaning they have to get that revenue from their businesses to pay that and such isn't always easy especially for businesses starting out and part-time businesses. Remember also many workers are not adults they are school age children that live at home plus some workers are part-time workers working for struggling businesses where such workers are either a stay-at-home parent or retiree or a person who has this part-time job as a second job where that person's principle job provides a living wage. Making a national minimum wage of $15.00 per hour will just fuel inflation and lead to a significant loss of jobs across America. In accord with previous remarks and to help get this red-herring issue off the table the Federal Government should lift the minimum wage from $7.25 to $9.00 per hour and raise it on a yearly basis in accord with the CPI.
