Exactly what he should do; the leadership never supported him anyway, and he owes them nothing. If they withhold their support and funds from him, all the better. He's able to raise his own money. Many will support him, though, as they want to have some influence with him if he does win. He can ruin several of their Senate and Congressional races if he goes indy, win or lose, and that will cost them a lot more than the White House, it will also cost them speakerships and committee chairmanships. Or they can commit suicide, let Hillary appoint a slew of Federal judges, and hand over key posts in both houses. Doesn't matter to his supporters either way; they despise the GOP 'leadership' and Paul Ryan in particular.

And, they also know a Hillary Residency is going to be hilarious as well; watching all the naive loons have melt downs as she does nothing about any of their cherished fantasies, as Democrats have done every time they did have the means to pass anything worthwhile and of course didn't.
