The Evaporation of the Obama Mystique

Victor Davis Hanson
American Greatness

Barack Obama had long been rumored as the catalyst for the 2020 Biden nomination—and thereafter played the whispering puppeteer behind the subsequent lost Biden administration years.

As such he and his coterie proved the virtual architects of the Biden administration, one of the most unpopular and failed presidencies in American history.

Recall earlier that after a flailing candidate Joe Biden lost the first three 2020 primaries and caucuses, his inert campaign was headed nowhere.

The Biden admin was Obama's third term. The Biden economy was a worse version of Obamanomics.
Hopefully, Obama's influence on the Democrat Party is at an end.

12 years of him throwing monkey wrenches into the gears of America. He should be hanged for treason, IMO.
If all the things he's done and communications are investigated, I'm sure he could be convicted of treason.

Obama as a community organizer utilized many of the principles put forth by Saul Alinsky and while not a pure Marxist (neither was Alinsky) he pushed many Marxian concepts in his government style, i.e. government micromanagement of as much of American life as he though he could get away with. The result was a very mediocre, lackluster economy and the slowest recovery from recession as we had seen since the Great Depression. More than 90% of the jobs created under eight years of Obama were part time or temporary jobs with few or no benefits.

That didn't stop him and the Democrats from giving him the credit for Trump's subsequent amazing economic success.

But then what many believe to be Obama's third term directing the show under Biden returned us to a mediocre/lackluster economy that included exacerbated inflation and little or nothing of value to show for $25+ trillion spent. Most jobs created under Biden have been government jobs, healthcare, and hospitality sector the latter of which were again mostly part time and/or temporary jobs with little or no benefits. And of course the border was overrun by tens of millions of illegal migrants that the majority of Americans hated. (They hated the situation, not the migrants.)

So Biden and Harris pulled Obama to the forefront again in an effort to win the November 5 election. But it was obvious that Obama's crown is now tarnished, he had nothing to offer the people other than denouncing Republicans and Trump and the same old tired meaningless promises of this or that which most people no longer believed. The people know when they are worse off than before and resent being told hold how good things are for them.

A classic illustration of the 'the emperor has no clothes.'

What's the difference between a pure Marxist and an impure Marxist?
A pure Marxist promotes the government taking over all means of production. Neither Alinsky nor Obama ever went that far. Even Lenin, when he tried it causing a massive collapse of the Russian economy, relented and allowed more privatization.
