Donald Trump, Blasphemous Bible Thumper

Why do you suppose hypocrites always tend to hate “whataboutisms”?

When did you stop beating your wife? Since we're asking fallacious questions.

But just in case you sincerely don't understand what's wrong with whataboutisms, it's a deflection. Which means a way to avoid addressing whatever the topic at hand is... by just throwing it back at the other "side."

It's basically what 5 year olds do on the schoolyard playground.

"You're a meanie!"

"But you're a poopyhead!"

"But you're a dumdum!"

and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on.....

without ever addressing any particular topic.

Both sides do it here. All the freakin time.

The fact that you don't see anything wrong with it is amazing to me, and hilarious...but I guess it shouldn't be surprising.

I must say, Maureen has always had a way with words. She's skewered President Joe Biden when she felt he deserved it. It was often painfully on point, and sometimes hilarious. In my opinion, never unfair. Now she has a column on Trump, Easter, and the Bible.

On this holy weekend, one man is taking the Resurrection personally.

Happy Holy Week!” he wrote on Truth Social. “Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless The USA Bible.”

David Axelrod says that, even as a secular Jew, he’s offended: “This is a guy who has violated 11 of the Ten Commandments.”
On this holy weekend, one man is taking the Resurrection personally.

Donald Trump is presenting himself as the Man on the Cross, tortured for our sins. “I consider it a great badge of courage,” he tells crowds. “I am being indicted for you.” Instead of Christ-like redemption, he promises Lucifer-like retribution if resurrected

Try discussion something on topic:

Donald Trump is presenting himself as the Man on the Cross, tortured for our sins. “I consider it a great badge of courage,” he tells crowds. “I am being indicted for you.” Instead of Christ-like redemption, he promises Lucifer-like retribution if resurrected.

In January, he put up a video on Truth Social about how he is a messenger from God, “a shepherd to mankind
.”

He's not wrong.

I've always said religious people are gullible because they believe something that scientifically can't be verified as true. Them supporting Trump is further proof they are easily conned.

But then again, he gave them the overturning of roe v wade. Even though that's very unpopular, he's been bragging to them that he got it done.
Aren’t you a fan of global warming? And guys can be girls? Maybe science isn’t your strong suit.

Christians like other voters are also workers, business owners, bosses, parents, tax payers, and homeowners therefore what they want in a president goes further than just their Christian belief. Like other Trump supporters Trump tells them what they want to hear with fire and conviction just the way their preacher does. He will rid the country of the crazy democrats, the evil liberal judges, the socialists, the communists, the murders and rapists, and all that would do us harm. He will bring God back into our schools. He will make our streets safe. He will cut taxes, bring prosperity back to America, eliminate liberal programs that are destroying America, etc, etc.

Trump learned in years of selling real estate, you make sales by telling people what they want to hear, not what they don't want hear. And that is the heart of his campaign, We Will Make American Great Again and never tell them what that would require.
We know what that would require. As hard as the decisions are, as difficult as the actions may be, we must be prepared for all of it.

Discuss:
"Trump is, as the nuns who taught me used to say, “a bold, brazen piece.” He is a miserable human who cheated on his wives, cheats at golf, cheats at politics, incites violence, targets judges and their families and looked on, pleased, as thugs threatened to hang his actually pious vice president."
Sounds like a fighter to me. I like that.

I thought he donated his salary and lost a billion in net worth while President?
Isn’t that what your programmers said?
Is the crypt keeper donating his salary?

I don’t remember that call…it didn’t happen, that’s why you didn’t post a link to prove it did.

Just remember, with no Democrat concocted anomalies you really have no pathway to a victory.
You supposedly won by 6 million votes last cycle with a Dem/China made virus, a George Floyd incident pushed by the MSM and social media, a national mail-in-ballot scam and without the crypt keepers record fucking you in the ass.
You’re out of bullshit to bail you out…hahaha…you are so fucked.
Get ready for a non-stop bitch-slapping from the Orange Man….hahahaha

Trump spent $131 million playing golf.

Wouldn’t the anti-Christ pretend, faggots, chicks with dicks and abortions are cool?

Is your crypt keeper a legit Catholic? Doesn’t he champion pole puffing, chicks with dicks and abortions?
Is that what good Catholics do?

Remember when the crypt keeper didn’t want his kids going to school with negroes and when he hated illegal wetbacks? Damn, talk about an about-face huh?

Biden made the remark in 1977, when he was a U.S. senator representing Delaware. He was voicing his views on busing as part of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing about the subject.

He knows a "mark" when he sees one. Trump was pro choice until his keepers informed him that he needed the pro life crowd in order to be a player in the 2016 campaign. He did an about face quick. Real quick.
To steal a line from another poster, Trump took one look at the talk radio crowd and said, "THIS is gonna be EASY".

Oh on paper he worked for free but remember it cost $3 million dollars each time he went to AND from Mara Lago. And he went A LOT

And every foreigner stayed at Trump hotel when visiting him. And they spent A LOT

Biden sure isn't milking the US tax payers like Trump did.

And Trump Crime Family can afford to lose $1 billion dollars because the Saudi's gave them $2 billion. Do you realize that's 2000 million dollars?

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

neither if them was a criminal defendant out on bail. Nor were they calling rioters who attacked LE -- heroes and patriots. Nor were they adulterers and sex abusers

Neither Jim Carter nor Franklin Roosevelt sold Bibles to finance their campaign. I don't believe any president in history has stooped so low as to commercialize the faith in such a cynical and disrespectful way. Trump's reason for selling Bibles has no connection with promoting the faith but rather promoting himself. I can't see how any person calling themselves a Christian would approve of this.

Franklin Roosevelt promoted the distribution of the Pocket Testament referred to as the Soldier's Bible. These little books were provided by the Pocket Testament League and the DAR for distribution to servicemen in WWII. Franklin Roosevelt was following in the tradition established by Teddy Roosevelt.

Jimmy Carter's book, Simple Faith Bible is not a Bible but rather the New testament with 600 application-oriented notes, articles, reflections, and prayers. It's probably his last book before he died. The profits from the sale of this book as his other books went to support both charitable and Christian causes.
