They give unlimited love and only ask that we feed and care for them. They ignore our tantrums and lick our faces. We're down and lonely and they come to cuddle up against us. We call their names and they perk up their ears, looking at us with their equivalent of a smile. How can they not help those in the throes of PTSD?
But, as usual, the VA can't get this right. Dogs go through intense training that doesn't do what it's supposed to in the end.
