Doge reduced warning and response time for the Texas flood.

There was a flood watch and a flood warning given, same as before.

But you know, little children died so you must rush in and make it political.
If little children dying isn't political, what is?

We are talking about dozens of dead due to incompetence. You should understand that as an expert since you go through life incompetent all the time. There are a lot of fathers in Texas that want to talk to you about your compassion. Go down there with a sign that says "Its just rain".
Where is the incompetence? Document it, Simp.

Yep. And staffed correctly they could have fulfilled that mission. Instead they are scrambling to hire back 1 out of every 4 people they fired - for now. What a shit show.
That's cool. Brilliant move! It was a way to weed out DEI hires without being sued for violating the EEO crap and hire back those who actually did the work before carrying the dead weight of DEIs.

Reports say no cell phones allowed at the camp sites. This was a christian camp that was very highly rated before this happened. People were saying it was an incredible place for young girls to go to learn to be great Christians.

So how many more NWS employees would it have taken to get weather and flood warnings to kids living in tents along a river with no cell service?

From rain that is easily forecasted in ranges that did not happen here.

So you are so stupid you think the NWS is the only entity with radar?

I don't know if this has been touched upon ... but this is weather ... notoriously difficult to predict ... so let me be the first to remind everyone that the #1 argument against climate change predictions is "we can't even predict major floods two hours in advance, how can we predict drought 100 years hence?" ...

As we can see, that argument has merit ... science fell short, again ... I feel sorry for those who worship science ... she makes a cruel god ...

Doge taking a chain saw to our weather monitoring and warning systems and to FEMA has made the tragedy of the Texas flood even worse than it had to be. Those agencies were in place for a reason, and should have never been degraded by someone who didn't even understand why we need those agencies.

Yes, it's quite possible that victims of the recent Texas flood could have received earlier or more effective warnings if not for cuts and policy shifts tied to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and former President Donald Trump's administration.

🌀 What Happened in Texas?

On July 4, 2025, catastrophic flash flooding struck areas along the Guadalupe River, leading to fatalities and widespread emergency rescues. Local authorities issued urgent warnings, but the scale and speed of the flooding overwhelmed many systems.

🧩 How DOGE and Trump’s Policies May Have Affected This

According to investigative reporting from the Texas Observer and San Antonio Current, the Trump administration’s DOGE initiative significantly impacted federal disaster preparedness and response:

  • FEMA Cuts: DOGE slashed FEMA’s workforce by about 20% and froze parts of its funding.
  • Disaster Aid Shift: Trump announced plans to phase out FEMA and shift disaster response responsibilities to individual states, arguing governors should handle emergencies independently.
  • Climate Risk Data Degradation: DOGE reportedly dismantled or degraded federal resources that track and model climate-augmented weather risks, such as flood forecasting and early warning systems.
  • Infrastructure Investment Delays: Federal support for flood prevention projects—like levees and drainage upgrades—was reduced or delayed, leaving vulnerable areas more exposed.

🧭 Could Earlier Warnings Have Been Possible?

While local agencies like the Harris County Flood Control District did issue warnings, the broader federal infrastructure that supports early detection, modeling, and communication of extreme weather risks may have been weakened. This could have:

  • Reduced the lead time for warnings
  • Limited the accuracy of flood forecasts
  • Slowed coordination between federal and local responders

So while it's speculative to say definitively that lives would have been saved, the evidence strongly suggests that federal cuts and policy shifts under DOGE and Trump made Texas—and its residents—more vulnerable to disasters like this one.
"May have affected", "May have delayed", "could have" ... lol .. speculative and subjective, unlike your objective grasping at straws.

doge cut the department of education, so it is likely a child won't be taught math on the same level as before.
That's probably a good thing, since there are school systems that are removing math competency as a requirement for graduation, and students who are graduating that are unable to read, write, or do basic math.

Camp owners banned cell phones from camp sites at camp Mystic. So how many more NWS employees would it have taken to relay the message to two dozen preteen girls living in tents in the woods with no cell coverage?

Yeah, but they can’t define a woman…..so they have that going for them.

15th post
I can confirm, I was able to read enough of the PDF for the rules for camp mystic, ALL electronic items are banned. Even phones with sim cards removed, so these kids had NO WAY of knowing what was coming. We could have hired a million NWS employees, the kids were still cut off from the world.

Gee..... I have a weather radar app on my phone.

All electronic devices were banned at camp Mystic. None of these children had phones.

I think this camp is done. They banned people from having devices that would have warned them of this impending doom. The lawsuits will ensure this camp closes forever. Opened in 1926, will close in 2025. It's over. 99 years, it was a good run, but all good things must come to an end.
