Do You Want War With Iran Or Do You Want Peace?

Yeah I changed the title of my thread to include Iran and my point that a peace deal isn't going to work with them so annheliate them.

Um, the IRANIAN PEOPLE themselves are kind, generous, warm hearted people.
It's the DICTATORS that are evil.

I want no harm to come to the Iranian people. Take out the RG and hardliner leaders.
I could support helping Iran rebuild if a moderate, democratic leadership was installed.

Agreed. I know several, and they are wonderful people.

He did say "to Iran"

I want both, but to get to peace sometimes you need war. Especially with people who don't want peace and to negotiate. So I think that The US should blow Iran and be done with it. The Iranian people need to do their part and have a Revolution if they want to escape. Exactly like we did from Britain and gained our independence.
So many flaws in that statement

The first is that Iran doesn't want to negotiate. The Iranians were negotiating in good faith when Trump listened to Bibi and started bombing them. The Iranians negotiated in good faith on JCPOA, until Trump tore it up, and they complied with its provisions for years afterwards

Iran did have a revolution in 1979, when they threw out the Shah.

We were in the wrong in this war. More importantly, we were in the wrong and we didn't have a plan to achieve our objectives.

So Trump's abject surrender, as bad as it is, is probably the best way out of the mess he created.

I'd like to see peace with a secular, peaceful Iran. However, until the Mullahs and IRGC are deposed that can't happen.
Again, whose fault is that?

We let the Shah systematically wipe out any credible secular oppossition, until the Clergy were the only ones left.

What does Israel have to do with our deal with Iran anyways when it was supposed to be between us and Iran?

Good point but nowhere to be seen in your poll.

The US cannot win a guerilla war.

As long as there are outsiders attacking there will never be a revolution.

The American colonies were 3300 miles from the british power base, the Iranian people are in the same towns.

Short of nuclear weapons we cannot win this.

Yeah and I still am strongly rethinking my original thoughts. I don't want Iran to have nuclear weapons, but if we had let Israel fight their own war we wouldn't be in this mess right now of a never ending forever war.

This was was started as Israel's behest.

Yeah but for good reason, but now it's starting to backfire on us.

Bullcrap, by Middle Eastern standards the Shah was a very enlightened ruler.

I do not feel it was a good reason.

Silly boy doesn't realize the Zionists call the shots in Washington, not America

Tell that to the 10s of thousands of people SAVAK executed.

It isn't a matter of enlightenment; it's a matter of reflecting the attitudes of their people. The Shah lived large in a palace while his people begged for scraps.
