Do you support the return of the Presidential Fitness Test? Why or Why not?

I think it's a great idea that never should have been abolished. Parents will get their first OBJECTIVE scorecard on the fitness of their kids. Some will squeal "fat shaming" or "bullying" but so what? This gets right to the core issue of expecting more of yourself and more of your parenting. What say you?
Yes, because too many kids are getting fat and lazy.

One thing is for sure. Revealing here that I'm female via my user name sure brings interesting responses. Referring to panties. Clutches pearls. Sure, Chad
lol
Men get their panties in a bunch and clutch their pearls, too. I see male posters on here do so frequently

You still haven’t explained why this has you so disproportionately riled up, beyond that the (gasp) federal government is involved

Again, what exactly are you afraid of?
I think she's saying that education and all related matters should be a state matter. The federal government shouldn't involve itself in it. I'm sure you have heard of the comments and feelings a lot of people have about the Department of education, and a big part of it is that the federal government insisted on imposing its will on the individual states.

You're right that there is already something being done on the national level, however, I feel that we shouldn't be all like "well since we are doing it already". I think we should have a proper debate on the role (if any) of the federal government on the issue of education. Should they get involved? Or should it remain an exclusively state matter?

Actually, what I have heard that is that out-of-shape, overweight people tend to be depressed. I think it has to do with the fact that they eat too much unhealthy carbs, and these carbs apparently make the brain secrete something, and it makes them depressed.

On OP:

You brought up a good point, because it reminds me of something I have always been saying. I feel that there should be a upper limit on how old a president can be. For example, let's say the POTUS cannot be older than, say, 55 or so. I think this makes sense, he is one of the most important people in the country, we can't have him die off during the middle of a huge armed conflict or something, it would just be bad. And this is not even talking about declining mental sharpness, mental confused brought on by advanced age...etc. We all know that as people get old, they become less healthy, less strong, less sharp versions of themselves. We don't want unhealthy, unfit, old people in the armed forces, why would we want them in the most important office in the world?
You missed the point of the thread.

If people think it's the gov's job to parent your kids, then throw in the towel right now.

Didn’t you have to climb the rope in elementary school? See how many reps you can bench press the bar in high school?
Not in high school. PE was an elective in high school - had to make room for the football team. If you weren't involved in football or trck and field-leading to football-the school didn't give less a shit about you and PE.

Nobody said impeach

Just that he lied about his weight
Presidents don't need to be fit, they just need to be reasonably healthy/not sick, so that they won't suddenly die in the middle of an important battle or crisis.

What does that have to do with him lying?

The reason people keep bringing it up is because it wasn’t just a little fib, it’s ridiculously not even close.

Trump brought the ridicule on himself by lying in such an obvious and outrageous way

I support the physical fitness test because I enjoy seeing democrats get hysterical opposing physically fit, healthy children.

I see your point; however, I personally really don't think they are that important, because TBH, when I was growing up, I was very unfit. But I was still quite healthy. Now, I am still quite unfit, and I honestly don't feel that there is anything amiss.

I mean, we’re all going to die eventually either way. But wouldn’t you rather spend your years looking fit and not developing a bunch of chronic health conditions that invariably affect quality of life?

You absolutely have a point; however, the truth is, I am simply too f*cking lazy, lol. Like, for example, when I think about having to wash the sports clothes (heck I don't even know the proper name to call them) each time I work out, I just feel lazy AF. This is a major reason why I don't work out. Too lazy to do the washing up.
