Aspiring sheriff who killed daughter's rapist has charge dropped
Aaron Spencer, 37, won the GOP nomination for Lonoke County Sheriff while awaiting trial for fatally shooting the man accused of sexually assaulting his 14-year-old daughter.
You have to love this!! This scumbag pedo kidnaps 14 year old girl and rapes her. He is arrested, then gets out of $50K bond pending the charges. The victim's family knows the attacker. Then, the scumbag kidnaps the same girl AGAIN. Dad takes off after her. He rams the pedo in his truck, forcing him off the road. His daughter is in the pedo's passenger seat trying to get away. The pedo lunges at the dad. Dad pulls his pistol and literally empties his mag into the scumbag, then for good measure, he jumps on the soon-to-be-deceased pedo and pistol whips him! The scumbag dies, and dad is charged with 1st degree murder, later reduced to 2nd degree murder. Dad's defense is that he was protecting his daughter (i.e., self-defense).
Dad had a dash cam in his truck. It may have contained footage of the attack that was beneficial or harmful to the dad. Discovery requests were made for the dash cam footage. But, the footage disappeared!! It turns out that the cop who seized the dash cam from dad's truck did not immediately log it into evidence. Instead, the officer kept it in his office. When the DA got it, the footage was not there and the memory card mysteriously disappeared. UH OH!!!
The judge got pissed at the cop and what he did. But without the evidence and the police "misconduct", the judge dismissed the charges against dad. Dad is now a free man!!! Dad is also the GOP nominee for the area's upcoming election for sheriff!
I am a bit torn on this. Clearly, there was police misconduct, and perhaps evidence tampering. However, I applaud the outcome.
