I think it's a great idea that never should have been abolished. Parents will get their first OBJECTIVE scorecard on the fitness of their kids. Some will squeal "fat shaming" or "bullying" but so what? This gets right to the core issue of expecting more of yourself and more of your parenting. What say you?

The problem in schools is that we have done this with EVERYTHING. We are now in charge of kids' mental health too, we do their laundry, we feed them two meals a day. We give them medical checkups.

This is far, far from a conservative position.

The govt has absolutely no business rating a child's fitness. That's what the medical profession is for.

What are you talking about? PE teachers have always tested and measured children’s fitness using physical tests and evaluations

Didn’t you have to climb the rope in elementary school? See how many reps you can bench press the bar in high school?

Aside from the obvious physical benefits of these tests, they’re part of the universal growing up experience

And I doubt very much anyone’s asking you specifically to administer any of these tests. So what’s your problem here?

You're not a conservative so from your position, if it's a good idea, let the govt (at the NATIONAL level) institute, plan, monitor and evaluate kids.

This argument from my POV has nothing to do with whether fitness is important. It's whether a president, AT THE NATL LEVEL, should be telling local schools that they must implement something related to fitness and then evaluate kids.

again, you're not a conservative. NO conservative should be in favor of an executive order mandating tests that must be carried out at the LOCAL level, most especially tests regarding children's BODIES.

But conservatives will sell out every single one of their ideologies if it fits in their narrow worldview. I mean, most will. As we see here.
