Iran closed the straits to enemy states AFTER the US and Israel violated international law by launching a war of aggression against Iran.

Absent unprovoked US aggression the Straits of Hormuz would still be open to all vessels, and Americans would be paying 40%-50% less for gasoline.

They are blockading the straits, and we are blockading them (on top of the sanctions we already had on them).
