Do the Iranian people support accepting US demands?

Support among the Iranian people for accepting U.S. demands is complex, heavily divided, and often overshadowed by a stronger, broader desire for regime change. While many Iranians oppose the ruling establishment and face extreme economic pressure, viewpoints on U.S. involvement vary:

  • Desire for Change, Not Necessarily U.S. Demands: While many Iranians are against the Islamic Republic, it is incorrect to assume they universally support all U.S. demands or intervention. Many hope to topple the regime themselves, rather than relying on foreign powers, out of fear of national fragmentation or worsening repression.
  • Opposition to the Regime: Reports indicate a high level of dissatisfaction with the government, with many Iranians looking for a way out or a change in leadership.
  • Divided Views on Intervention: Some Iranian Americans and those within the country have expressed support for U.S. pressure, including potential military action, seeing it as a way to weaken the regime. Others are cautious, fearing that U.S. intervention could lead to another Iraq-style conflict or create a new form of foreign dominance.
  • Messages to the U.S.: Some Iranians have urged leaders to "negotiate with the brave people of Iran, not with this suppressive regime," suggesting a preference for supporting the population rather than making deals with leadership.
  • Fear of Conflict: Many Iranians fear that intense U.S. demands could lead to war, causing further destruction, loss of life, and economic damage.

As of early 2026, Iranians remain largely united in their desire to see the current regime removed, but they are divided on how to achieve that goal and on how much of a role the U.S. should play.

It sounds like President Trump and the Iranian people are on the same page.

It is a P.R campaign and the U.S has been trailing since the Bush era.

I know Trump is a serious guy who believes in peace through strength. I would suggest for him and his team to also focus on U.S goodwill and reputation.

During WWII German P.O.Ws were (not necessarily the nazis) shocked at how well the Americans treated them. No one in WWII wanted to be imprisoned by the Russians or Japanese. America, Britain and even Canada at that time, were strong Christian nations in which the principles of human dignity was paramount.

Americas Constitution is its greatest asset. It helped the world love America during and after WWII (the food they sent to starving kids helped too), during the Cold War the same.

The M.I.C is taking far too much of the U.S resources in my opinion, especially as drones and other efficiencies can be mixed it. You can win allies through actions and generosity. Iranians need to know that America is not looking to conquer, but to bring dignity, democracy, liberty, self determination and friendship with Iran.

A win/win for everyone, especially the Iranian people.
