Abortion - Catechism of the Catholic Church. 2270 Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life. 72

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. 73

My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. 74

2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. 75

God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes. 76

2272 Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae ," 77 "by the very commission of the offense," 78 and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. 79 The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society.

2273 The inalienable right to life of every innocent human individual is a constitutive element of a civil society and its legislation :

"The inalienable rights of the person must be recognized and respected by civil society and the political authority. These human rights depend neither on single individuals nor on parents; nor do they represent a concession made by society and the state; they belong to human nature and are inherent in the person by virtue of the creative act from which the person took his origin. Among such fundamental rights one should mention in this regard every human being's right to life and physical integrity from the moment of conception until death." 80

"The moment a positive law deprives a category of human beings of the protection which civil legislation ought to accord them, the state is denying the equality of all before the law. When the state does not place its power at the service of the rights of each citizen, and in particular of the more vulnerable, the very foundations of a state based on law are undermined. . . . As a consequence of the respect and protection which must be ensured for the unborn child from the moment of conception, the law must provide appropriate penal sanctions for every deliberate violation of the child's rights." 81

2274 Since it must be treated from conception as a person, the embryo must be defended in its integrity, cared for, and healed, as far as possible, like any other human being.

Prenatal diagnosis is morally licit, "if it respects the life and integrity of the embryo and the human fetus and is directed toward its safe guarding or healing as an individual. . . . It is gravely opposed to the moral law when this is done with the thought of possibly inducing an abortion, depending upon the results: a diagnosis must not be the equivalent of a death sentence." 82

2275 "One must hold as licit procedures carried out on the human embryo which respect the life and integrity of the embryo and do not involve disproportionate risks for it, but are directed toward its healing the improvement of its condition of health, or its individual survival." 83

"It is immoral to produce human embryos intended for exploitation as disposable biological material." 84

"Certain attempts to influence chromosomic or genetic inheritance are not therapeutic but are aimed at producing human beings selected according to sex or other predetermined qualities. Such manipulations are contrary to the personal dignity of the human being and his integrity and identity" 85 which are unique and unrepeatable.

Iii. NotfooledbyW xli to wtccd00001. : I don’t see a suggestion in Catholic Teaching paragraph ii. that when a woman in private terminates her own pregnancy that means she is committing genocide.

Therefore it is Saint Votto being captivated by one of the multitude of the Republican Party‘s most evil lies.

Shrug. I simply asked if Mormon parents fear their children. What you may have missed I was talking about various deep-seated reasons why humans may develop a fear of God. This has nothing to do with human parents fearing their human children when the human children do wrong.

Perhaps you may wish to go back and re-read my post and respond to why human beings might develop a fear of God.
The definition you seem to have of “fear” is in question. I take it to mean heighten awareness and clarity of following and adhering to God’s words and commandments.

If you are uncertain of the definitions I have/am using of fear, why not ask instead of jumping to unfounded conclusions. Fear of the Lord can cover a lot of ground.

fear is the tool of control Meri
Yes. Fear is what keeps me from touching a hot stove burner, from jumping off a cliff, from putting myself in a position where I must speak in public, etc. And, of course, fear of failure can top our list when we set ourselves a course of action. Then there is the fear of disappointing the ones we love, of disappointing those who love us.

Yes, fear is one useful tool when it comes to controlling oneself and exerting self-discipline.

Absolutely. That's why learning about and experiencing the unknown can be its own adventure. One moves from fearing the unknown, to fear of failure if one tries to venture forth (or for that matter, is the deciding factor in not venturing into the unknown).

" Phenomenology Of Fight Or Flight "

* Weighs Of Paying Penance For Laughter In Slaughter *

Given goads proffered by apex predator hue mammon apes , there are reasons to remain vigilant .

But where are they now ?
Zeus observed the mortals from on top of mount olympus .
The trojan war has profoundly changed them , greek heros , who once feared the almighty gods , making sacrifices to them and giving them thanks , now behave as if they themselves are gods .
Victory has intoxicated them , transformed them much more deeply than anyone could have ever imagined .
Look at agamemnon , king of kings he calls himself , king of mycenia , he conquered all the greek cities before ordering them to march on troy , which within a few years he reduced to ashes , he now reigns over all the known world , and he thinks he is more than a king , his brother the wild beast menelaus has accused him of pride and excess , the most serious of all sins .
....
....
He forgets that it is the gods who decided the outcome of this war .
And it is precisely this decision which now sows discord among the gods .
Because olympus , where zeus reigns supreme , is in disarray and almost empty .
....
....
Beside the god of gods , there remains his daughter athena and his more recent son hermes .
For many years athena has had but one conviction , if mortal men now regard themselves as gods , there is one that should be watched over all others and maybe even helped , that man is ulysses , the king of ithica , who is threatening to return to his island and rejoin his family . ithica , the kingdom of ulysses .

....
....
Then the wild beast menelaus , the great greek warrior , begins to speak , describing the trojan war .
He tells him how behind the walls of priam city the best of them fell , achilles , patroclus , ajax , antilochus , and thousands of others .
Above all , menelaus tells talemicus how the greeks looted troy and massacred its women and children .
On that day , he confesses , feverish from the 10 years siege , they would listen to neither reason nor justice .
Which is why the wrath of zeus fell upon the greeks , the god of gods ensured a disastrous return for them all .

....
....
How could he escape the island that held him prisoner, asks the king of sparta , proteus answered that menelaus was a prisoner of the island because in his excess , he had forgotten to offer a sacrifice to zeus , neglecting his greatness and his power .

* Discord Prime Twenty Three *

The "Original Snub" is the Discordian name for the events leading up to the judgement of Paris, although more focus is put on the actions of Eris. Zeus believes that Eris is a troublemaker, so he does not invite her to Peleus and Thetis's wedding. Having been snubbed, Eris creates a golden apple with the word kallisti (Ancient Greek: καλλίστη, 'for the prettiest') inscribed in it. This, the Apple of Discord, is a notable symbol in Discordianism for its inclusion in the Sacred Chao,[37] and is traditionally described as being made of gold.[a][39]

Traditionally, the Trojan War arose from a sequence of events beginning with a quarrel between the goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. Eris, the goddess of discord, was not invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, and so arrived bearing a gift: a golden apple, inscribed "for the fairest". Each of the goddesses claimed to be the "fairest", and the rightful owner of the apple. They submitted the judgment to a shepherd they encountered tending his flock. Each of the goddesses promised the young man a boon in return for his favour: power, wisdom, or love. The youth—in fact Paris, a Trojan prince who had been raised in the countryside—chose love, and awarded the apple to Aphrodite. As his reward, Aphrodite caused Helen, the Queen of Sparta, and most beautiful of all women, to fall in love with Paris. The judgement of Paris earned him the ire of both Hera and Athena, and when Helen left her husband, Menelaus, the Spartan king, for Paris of Troy, Menelaus called upon all the kings and princes of Greece to wage war upon Troy.

In Greek and Roman mythology, Odysseus (/əˈdɪsiəs/ ə-DISS-ee-əs;[1] Ancient Greek: Ὀδυσσεύς, Ὀδυσεύς, romanized: Odysseús, Odyseús, IPA: [o.dy(s).sěu̯s]), also known by the Latin variant Ulysses (/juːˈlɪsiːz/ yoo-LISS-eez, UK also /ˈjuːlɪsiːz/ YOO-liss-eez; Latin: Ulysses, Ulixes), is a legendary Greek king of Ithaca and the hero of Homer's epic poem the Odyssey. Odysseus also plays a key role in Homer's Iliad and other works in that same epic cycle.[2]

As the son of Laërtes and Anticlea, husband of Penelope, and father of Telemachus, Acusilaus, and Telegonus,[3] Odysseus is renowned for his intellectual brilliance, guile, and versatility (polytropos), and he is thus known by the epithet Odysseus the Cunning (Ancient Greek: μῆτις, romanized: mêtis, lit. 'cunning intelligence'[4]). He is most famous for his nostos, or "homecoming", which took him ten eventful years after the decade-long Trojan War.[5]

In Greek mythology, Dysnomia (Ancient Greek: Δυσνομία, lit. 'Lawlessness, Bad Government, Anarchy')[1] is the personification of lawlessness. According to Hesiod's Theogony, Dysnomia was the offspring of Eris (Strife), with no father mentioned.[2] Like all of the children of Eris given by Hesiod, Dysnomia is a personified abstraction, allegorizing the meaning of their name, and representing one of the many harmful things which might be thought to result from discord and strife, with no other identity.[3]

Hesiod associates Dysnomia with Ate [Recklessness]. He names both as offspring of Eris, on the same line (230) of his Theogony, and says that the two are "much like one another".[4]

In 2005, Dysnomia was chosen as the name for the moon of the dwarf planet Eris.

Yes, fear is one useful tool when it comes to controlling oneself and exerting self-discipline.
Actually, too much fear will cause you to not do anything and whatever you are cooking will burn up. Too little fear may cause you to be careless and touch the burner and make you yell and scream "It's Trump's fault!" The right amount of fear will help you FOCUS on the task at hand and you will not burn yourself nor your food.
Too much fear about landing into a pool of fire and brimstone will also cause you to be controlled with no free moral agency to choose good or evil. Too little fear would cause you to be careless and be carefree about the commandments and their responsibilities as a disciple of Christ. The right amount of fear or respect towards God, his commandments, doctrines and ordinances, will help keep you focused on the purpose God has for you and on the straight and narrow of God's plans for us eternally. This also means one has the freedom to choose and open to learning more and more about God's doctrines to make sure you are following the correct plan of God.

No, I choose not to misspell. Why would you do that? 'G-d' is meaningless and really disrespectful to a lot of folks.
Disrespectful how? I choose to be endearing to G-d, preferring not to spell out his name in full. It is a conscience decision which requires thought instead of reflex

G-d means nothing to me.

"God" is not his name. It is his position or title. There are names for each member of the Godhead. The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. Those are not the names of each either. They are again titles and positions. So, not to over use their names and taking the names in vain.
